Hello,

This is my first indoor grow.....so I got a box from work I wanted to convert to a mini grow room for the time being until I have the time to make an actual one out of wood or convert one of my closets. My girlfriend is convinced I'm going to burn the house down. The box is 18" wide, 12" deep, 29" tall and I have some autoflower seeds I am germinating right now, about 3. Want to grow them in soil and they should not get higher than 12-15". I don't think much more will fit in there. I have 3-23watt CFL bulbs 2700k and 1-26watt (I think, whatever the equivalent is) 6500 bulbs.... two fans - don't know which one to use. One is much smaller, so I may use that until I raise the lights then move in the white fan (pictures). I have a vent taped up into the box at the top there, about 11"x5".

So far the temp is about 95 degrees, 50% humidity with the small red fan blowing, and inside the house is 75 degrees with no a/c running, just a ceiling fan. It doesn't feel like that though when i poked my head inside the box to get the therm. We're supposed to get a cold front tomorrow but I anticipate running the a/c about 77 degrees in a few weeks or so. (South Texas) I have he lights suspended from the top with the weight distributed on a hanger (lol) and taped down. I plan to run the lights on a 16/0 schedule from about 5pm-9am. Please let me if I should use the other fan to keep the temp down. I know it needs to come down about 15 degrees. Thanks in advance....

You setup is brilliantly funny. You bring a whole new meaning to the word "getto". Anyways, All looks good though but unless you plan on watering the plants ALOT I would agree that bringing the temp a bit down might be a good idea. My only concern would be the fact that you have so many hot lights and power cables all over a box, if for some mystic reason it decides to catch fire then you might be loosing more than some plants and a grow box, if you know what I mean. As far as adding another fan, the more are the better is my opinion. And of course this would help cool it down to.

Should I somehow run the light cables down the side of the box rather than rest them on top? What if I remove one of the bulbs to lessen the heat? Or leave the "door" cracked at night? Stealth isn't incredibly important here and I will deal with odor in a few weeks. Thanks in advance!!!
