A thermostat will take care of your room being too cold, put the intake fan (I believe you said you were using an active intake with passive exhaust?) on the thermostat and set it for the temp you want. It will shut the fan off when it gets too cold and turn it on when it gets too hot. Here is a link to a nice one: http://www.horticulturesource.com/c-a-p-custom-automated-products-cooling-thermostat-temperature-controller-50-115-f-with-3-temperature-probe-p5719/?osCsid=d9992686d9206d97ae1a97226cb26d22

my lights came on at 5 pm. they stay on until 11 am.

it is 10:30 pm and there is ice on the ground outside.

my light fan sucks air in from outside. it is running.

i turned the swamp cooler OFF but opened most of the vents.

i have an oscillating fan going in the middle of the room.

my room temperature is 62 degrees, ... 006.jpg 001.jpg

the temperature at the center most plant is 74 degrees, ... 005.jpg 004.jpg

im imagine a small electric space heater in the corner would do the trick.... or am I missing something here??

It would be much cheaper to get a thermostat
no more extra wattage of the heater and you wouldn't run your main fan as much

they close in 15 mins. or did they close at 10?

hopefully in the next day or 2. :joint::joint:
With those lights cooled so well couldnt you move them closer to the plants too thus giving them a little more heat. It was cold in that room and Im sure its gotten colder since then. I wonder how much the temps will go up or down relative to the outside temps with the lights on? With this cold wave you may be able to operate even in the daytime without temp concerns.

Did you smack that one plant back to life? :blsmoke:

FDD- how come not a stadium again with the 3 600s? seemd like you did fairly well last time but had alot more plants and structure to mess around with which i could see preventing someone from doing it again.

Too cool. LOL.
If it get's too cold outside that the cooler being off does not fix it.
What about attatching the thermostat to the fan venting you're hood.
Looking real proper FDD.

how about slowing your fan down. a dimmer switch wired in series would do the trick. don't make it on or off, but a lower speed, thus keeping temp. just wire it up in its own box, and pick your settings based off observation. changes gradual. you can also put the fan on a timer. bongsmilie

it was 22 degrees outside last night. there were frozen puddles of ice in my yard all day. it never thawed out, yet the sun was out most of the day. gonna be just as cold tonight.

it's ok, for now.

i could simply put in a small exhaust fan and leave my cooler vents open. i have an extra one laying around. the plants need "fresh air", but at this size i don't think it needs to be a lot.

with the vents open and the fan not running, it gets pretty drafty any breeze outside blows in.
