Feminzed Seeds *Beware*

This post is a warning about feminized seeds.

I have recently purchased a number of packs of feminzed seeds from nirvana-shop and attempted to grow them. My results were scarily disappointing. After germination rates of like 1 out of 5 seeds I found the plants that I did get grew to a height of about 2.5 inches and then wouldn't grow any further. I have never encountered a plant behaving like this before and it leads me to believe that the process used to feminize the seed is actually destroying the plant.

My grow room officially boycotts these seeds and views them as dangerous to seed genetics.

I am suspicious breeders are sending out lower quality regular seeds atm in an effort to change consumers onto feminized products. Lets try to make some noise and stop this madness.

Only ever done feminized and had 100% success, never had a runt, never a hermie, 100% germination. So sorry have to disagree, Iv had 5 ft plants from feminized seeds which yielded over 6 oz, maybe it was the breeder and not that there feminized. Just my input tho. Nice1

Also NO PROBLEM with ANY fem seeds I've used....and that's a bunch of different breeders, suppliers and strains. Go boycott mis-information......

I get White Widow and AK-48 feminized from Nirvana and have never had a male or hermie. I always get good results.

ive never used nirvana, but i've grown plenty of femmed beans in the past, and am currently growing some white russian fem'ed and she is looking wonderful.. no hermies, no shit genetics, nothing but pure goodness...

i have grown feminised "ice" from nirrvana , with good results, i say dump mixed seeds that are a waste of space , Feminised is the way for me ...........
maybe your germination tech is wrong ????

With the above input you may want to look at your style /technique? I would.

I'd go so far as to say my germination is generally 100% with 48 hr. germination and 4 days to pushing green from dry seed. More like 12 hrs to germ, 2 1/2 days to seeing green.

Presently growing Green house - Jack Herre, Deliciouse - Super Silver Haze, Barney's - Laughing Buddha, and Dinafem - Blue Widow (UFO). No issues at all here.

My bigger prob is the Fems are said to be not 100% female, meaning you may occasionally get a male. I've not gotten a male yet and think I will order regular next to get some pollen.

I have not used Nirvana yet, but have ordered twice -- once from AMS in Netherlands and once from Attitude. So far, 100% germination and nice looking plants from Attitude. My first grow w/seeds from AMS went fairly well also. Had WW that was fem, and they were. They grew nicely, still growing clones a year later. The other strain (Caramelicious) was not fem, and had quite a few males. Some didn't germ. I screwed up a couple plants. Never cloned the good ones successfully, and the remaining couple seeds were male. No complaints though, other than the males the problems were likely my own doing with my first attempt.

Shops like AMS, Attitude, Nirvana have been in business for years. If they didn't deliver what they are advertising, it would be quickly found out and they wouldn't be in business.

I also ordered my beans from Nirvana. 5 femmed Jock Horror and 5 Femmed Full Moon. All 10 seeds germinated in around 24 hours. I managed to raise 9 to maturity. One of the plants was a dwarf, it reached about 4 inches and just quit. I did not want to waste it so I put that plant outdoors and basicly forgot about her for a month. Then she started growing again, not much yield, just one huge cola, no buds on what few branches she had. The fatality came from me dropping a 400 w ventilated hood on one of my girls. I am now on my 3rd generation of clones from these seeds and it is stellar bud. If interested check my sig.

I had the same thing happen to me. Nirvana refunded my seeds. But I kinda threw a fit. Mine were snow white that did that.

Watch the news there has been scams that go on longer than a few years so how long ur in biz dont mean shit cuz a dummy is born everyday!

I will ever buy in Goldenseed , i can trust in every seed they send me!

The whole concept of feminzed seeds is that a self pollinating female produces them. This is nonsense. A self pollinating female will only produce regular seeds.

And in the news it looks as though the industry is trying to fully shift consumers onto this product since a lot of seed sites don't sell regular seeds any more. They think they make better money off feminized. After all they don't use males to pollinate their girls and only sell you half the number at a mark up.
