Filter-Hood-Fan setup?

my room is starting to come together and i'll be installing the equipment soon. What is the best way to setup a filter, air cooled hood, and exhaust fan? i was going to have my passive intake on the bottom of the room, and then my setup would be filter to hood to fan to exhaust port. I've read a few that say this is the correct way and a few that say the filter should be after the fan, so hood, fan, filter, exhaust. What does everybody say? The room is 4wx4lx9h if it matters.

I do passive air in through the bottom, then hang my carbon filter at the top, attached directly to my inline fan that sucks air through it, then pushes that air through the hood and out of an exhaust port.

It's important to suck the air from the top of the tent as you don't want to simply suck in the fresh air and blow it out immediately.

Is there a reason to suck hot air through your fan? That might kill your fan prematurely, and hopefully when you're around. I would go filter, fan, hood then exhaust.
