so the air blows out of the filter? makes sense; especially for height restrictions in the Homebox.

Yes, so the air blows out the top and goes through the filter. I grew 3 White Widow clones friends had given me, and 4 Sensi Star from fem seeds. The 3 widow clones gave me 3 and a half ounces (by onions I mean ounces)I callem onions or zippers....I got 1 zip from 2 of them and 1 and a half from one. Then from 2 sensi stars I got 1 and a half of each, and the last 2 sensi stars i got 2 and a half off each. I did FIM one of the 2 higher yielding sensi stars(my first FIM) and that worked great! got lots of colas and my other high yielding sensi star turned purple. Anyway, I was very very psyched. Right now I am finishing up a Mikado in there that i started in my small tent but it outgrew it, and I also have 4 fem Brainstorm which i did an expieriemnt and skipped the veg stage and did 12/12 from seed with those and kept them in small solo cups... they look like they will each give me a quarter maybe... the Mikado looks like it will be 3-4 ounces. Its huge. The Sensi Stars I grew were only between 2 and 2 and a half feet tall and the Widows were 2 ft tall.. Mikado is 3ft... anyway Homebox rocks! My other friends are gonna buy multiple HBs and try to replicate my grow since it was so succesful. Im making some dank Sensi Star cannabutter tonight! I love having so much herb, and I DO NOT sell, just like to give it to my friends and family and spread the love... Of course Ill keep a q'per for my head to last me till next time.. I got 2 skywalker babies and 2 blue moonshine babies growin up in my small set up at the moment. Peace

I would move the carbon filter outside of your tent for extra space and cover up the vents in flower with a roll of universal carbon filter, you can stick velcro to the tent and the filter will stick right on and look neat and clean with no tape. (I am a total clean freak and my set up is spotless). That way no light will shine in from the vents and it will also reduce the light leaking out the vents. and the smell with lights out... not really qualified to give any other advice since Im still learning. I have learned a ton from this site.

Hey Cheech how do you keep your homebox xs cool and what are the temps? I have a homebox xs with a htg 250 watter and a 160 cfm can fan in my closet and it's hard to keep the temps below 83.

Well I'm not really having height issues at the moment, and I've read somewhere here that it's more effective to have air sucked through the filter rather than blown out.

And thanks for the carbon pre-filter tip. I went to my local grow shop today to pick some up, but when i got there I had forgotten what I was supposed to buy

Legacy187, I use the 6 inch fan HTG sells on their site for 25 bucks and I have the same 250 watter from HTG as you.. My fan exhausts through an HTG 6 inch carbon filter (have a can filter on bigger tent) and my temps stay at 75 in there even with no aircooled hood or intake fan. I have an intake fan all set up but havent had to turn it on cause its perfect temp. i dont know how I keep it so cool, I guess having it set up in the basement helps. I notice the 250 raises my temps by 15 degress.. basemnt is a contsant 60 degrees. So, i guess thats why, cause I have it in the coolest room of my house. Sorry i cant help you more. Sandmonkey, I am super stoked for the Blue Moonshine also! I have the Ed rosenthall Big Book of Buds volume 1 & 2 and Ive been looking at that Blue Moonshine in that book for a few years and wanting to grow it so I cant wait! plus, a cool guy on here by the name of Raiderman grew some out and said it was like the best herb out of his previous 30 grows I think he said so Im psyched! Also got in my seed vault, Exile, Warlock, Nebula, Big Bang, Nightshade, and a fresh unopened pack of Blue Moonshine (got 2 fem 5 packs of the BM)for the future! Future is looking bright! Gonna throw the Exile in the bigger tent as soon as Mikado is finished which shouldnt be too much longer. Mikado is a beautiful gorgeous plant to grow btw although it smells rather offensive compared to the floral scents of white widow and the pungent lemon scent of the sensi stars. Out of my 4 sensi stars btw, 2 came out very similar an dthe other 2 were completely different. Weird huh? so, would it be correct to say that I had 3 different phenotypes? I am still learning terms and whatnot but 3 were very different, two that looked just like all the pics you see of sensi star and the other two, one was more orange with a hawaiian fruitpunch smell, and the other one was totally purple! Whatever, they are all megadank... just surprised by the ammount of variety in one pack of seeds.... anyway... peace guys, good luck with everything and one love

Cool. I also have the Big Book of Buds 1 & 2 and picking up 3 tomorrow with the carbon pre-filter. But what really got me interested in Blue Moonshine is what Jason King had to say about it in Cannabible volume 1.

Do you always grow from seeds? that's pretty cool! I started with clones for my first grow, but am hoping to go to Amsterdam in the next few weeks to go seed shopping. The Mikado looked really awesome in Big Book of Buds, but apparently the high is nothing special. Would love to hear your thoughts on this (once toked obviously).

And yeah phenotype is the correct term. Extra variety doesn't hurt

Well, I have only ever bought fem seeds but the 3 white widow were clones my friends gave me(i wouldnt buy white widow I dont think, I find it a bit boring and the high just average...). The Mikado was a regular seed a friend gave me with a bubblegum seed, the bubblegum turned out male unfortunatly but mikado was female. I also grew out some freebie mazars but they were very irregular and one formed claws. I gave those to a friend, didnt want to deal with them. I have the 3 cannabibles too, I want to try that Old Time Moonshine.. I will definitely let you know how the Mikado is once it is finished. You know whats weird? the Sensi Stars, everywhere I read said they take 60-65 days. Mine took 80 & 83 days. Mikado says it takes between 42-48 days most places I have looked, and its already been flowering 48 days and still has all white hairs.. So, I guess I just wont pay attention to what breeders say about flowering time... well, lots of luck to you Sandmonkey, keep in touch and let me know how your op goes!

HI guys just having a read through very interesting ..i use a 1.2 x 1.2 x 6 bud box ...love it !!!!!! great enviroment control i have a 600 wat HPs one big fan with 4 speed settings drawing the air out just passive no fan pulling air in..I put my filter outside the tent in that space it doesnt make any difference really plus i have seen the results of a filter falling onto a lamp ..not pretty i went home got the thing outside sharpish...If your short on space Bud box Home box rule the world in my opinion...for a tent my size 600 watt is as high as you can go really without aircooled lamps i tried a 1000 but it was just too hot...im gonna do a grow journal of sorts just germed five ak 47 (serious seeds) and five white widow..done them both before so i know whats comin.. Happy growing....
