first attempt but need guidance (please)

hi my friend is on her first grow and has a querie.
she is 6 weeks into flowering and the girls are looking quite good at the mo. im always on here doing research for her as she never has time and we have run into a problem that i cant find any threads about.
what it is, is at the mo the trichs are turning cloudy with 1 or 2 going amber. i know that you have to harvest when the trichs are 20% cloudy and 80% amber but im confused with the flushing period.
she started her flush on monday when she first noticed the cloudy trichs which means she will now be flushing for 7-10 days. how long is it normally from when the trichs go from cloudy to amber? has she got her timings right???
ive trawled through so many threads looking for answers but to no avail.
cant really go by weeks either because she was told it was big bud, 4 weeks flowering, but its now been 6 weeks and from pics on here, it looks like white widow.
please help if you can as i feel responsible as im telling her what to do!!!

i never flushed plants properly but i seen a load of people flushing there plants in the last two weeks of flowering ...peace

it can happen fast, there are many different times you can harvest though. you can when most are cloudy for an energetic high or when most are amber for a more narcotic high. If they have already started going cloudy and some amber, there is no way to tell which day is the perfect day to harvest unless you are taking a scope to the bud everyday checking its progress and your personal preference. So i would say, tell her to keep flushing, check the trichromes once a day, and when they get about 50/50 cloudy and amber, chop her down, cure her good, roll it up and burn it down. Good luck!

as far as flushing timing, she should be fine, like spliff said, lots of people go 2 weeks flushing before harvest, but since you don't know what strain it is that makes it a little harder. Just keep flusing and look for that 50/50 and you should be just fine, don't sweat it man.

Well peak should be on the seventh or eighth week so you should be close, the two week period should have already started or you could start on the seventh week and by the eighth week you can cut her down. Here's the thing you have to make sure you flush properly, alot of people add fuckloads of water to try and sweep the soil clean of chemicals and fert/nutes. You can do two things, for some people this works, you can add water till you see it leaking from the bottom. Or second just add as much water as if on a regular watering day. By the second week your flush should be done and when your harvest and cure phase is done and your ready to smoke it should be smooth as apposed to really harsh. Make some hash.
