Today is pretty much day 1. i germinated 5 seeds friday night and sunday morning 4 popped open. i planted 3 right now because i want the other one to open up just a little bit more before i put it into the soil. im only using 2 23w CFLs right now and my rig isnt fully finished yet but i figured i have time to get everything else. all i need is reflective material, nutrients, sum pc fans 9i already hav a small fan inside but no exhaust fan) and maybe better soil. so far thats about it right now....o can someone help me with posting pictures..i cant seem to figure it out haha

they're just reggie seeds and i have like 20 haha so im not worried about any mistakes right now. this is the trial and error stage for me haha once i can acctually keep a plant alive from start to finish then ill try and go all out

The only reason they are "reggies" is because of the way the grower treated them. Early harvest, shitty nutes, no cure, shitty packaging, etc.

You'll be surprised what you can grow with seeds that come from a bag of shwag. Very surprised.

see thats exactly what i kept hearing and reading about! im soooo stoked. to be honest ive been reading forums on this website and a couple other websites for literally a couple years before i decided to do this and i read in so many places that reggie used to b good at one point or atleast had the potential. its just that in mexico they didnt care about how they grew it and how they handled it. all they care about is getting the product out and making a buck

Even a bag of kind bud that you buy off the streets is likely grown well beneath potential. Commercial growers take all sorts of shortcuts to get their product for sale quickly, and to turn over their gardens as often as possible.

Don't get me wrong, genetics have a lot to do with it. But you love your bagseed plants and have the necessary patience with them you will out-do the bag they came from every single time... by alot.

So take it seriously! :)

i trust me i am ahaha anytime i do a project like this i put a lot into. i wont start it unless i do all the research before hand and ill continue to research until i feel comfortable enough to try it. thats why i spent a couple years researching before i started =D

+rep. I was wondering about that. I am growing some shitty regs also. Probably came from columbia or mexico and was grown outside. I was thinking i could make it better if i grew it. Cant wait to see!

vpd91- Looks great so far. it sucks not knowing the plants will be male or female. I havnt been able to get fem seeds or autos yet. I am still bag-seeding away.

i'm subd.. Keep up posted :D

Cool man, well have fun! Just didn't want you to think you're handicapped out of the gate, because you're certainly not.

The only thing that sucks about bagseed is that the genetics are a wildcard. You could end up with a variety you don't particularly care for, or a sativa strain that flowers for 14 weeks, or multiple varieties in the same grow which can be a pain in the ass. Next time after you've got your groove you'll probably want to select your genetics so you'll know exactly what you've got, when to expect maturity, etc.

You're probably not growing last year's Cannabis Cup winner, but you're not growing regs either. I hope not anyhow, but that's entirely up to you!

Other thing to consider, your bag had seeds in it right? Seed production diverts plant energy from bud production. Right there is another significant factor in the quality of product you got in that bag-o-schwag that you'll hopefully not have in your final product.

well todays day 2. so far nothing has happened yet haha. how long does it usually take for them to come outa the ground?? ive been keeping the lights on for a 24 hour period since i planted them. ive been watering them once a day with a spray bottle idk if thats too much but i figured since they've been soaking in water nonstop that they might need the water a lil bit still so ive been trying to keep them pretty moist but not too much. any advice would b much appreciated. heres a picture of my lights by the soil. they're maybe 2 inches from the soil

Looks good. U should see them pop up in a day or two. I have been sprouting mine in a damp paper towel, when the sprout gets about 1" to 2" long i plant it with the seed out of the ground about 1/2", i never really cover the whole seed with dirt. I am using a shitty strain, the seeds sprout really fast. For autos and fast budding plants with longer sprout time its probably better to cover them with dirt.

Keep it up u should see them in no time. :D

thats how i germinated mine but i didnt wait for them to get that long. the first 2 i put them in right when the tip of the root came out. then the next 2 i waited until the were about 1/4" long and then the last one i waited until it was 1/2" long and i didnt bury them more than 1/2" deep. im probly just getting impatient haha i wanna see my babies grow damnit! haha

can any tell me if im watering it too much right now? ive been watering it once sometimes twice a day (in the morning b4 work and if the soil feels dry ill water it at night) with a spray bottle but i hav a feeling im over watering. i know that once it sprouts and starts getting leaves i shud only water every other day maybe 3 times a week but wat about before that?
