Well im starting this journal abit late as im quite a long way into veg allready but ill post pics from the start :)

Seeds: Bagseed from a friend, atleast he claims its bagseed but jesus christ. 10 seeds 8 female,1 hermie and 1 that might be male but not certain yet.... sounds like fem seeds to me.

soil: 20% Perlite
10% Leca
20% cow shit
50% sterilized potting soil

Nutes: GHE florabloom
GHE floragrow
GHE floramicro

it all startet with a room in the house not beeing used for anything but putting all our crap into it

After measurements were made i thought my best bet was a layout like this.
layout.jpg
a pic of the room after a loong time cleaning up shit
x0bilde.jpg
starting the basic framework
x1bilde.jpg
and offcourse...HOW MUCH WILL FIT??
x2bilde.jpg
mother/veg cab finished
mother1.jpg
and last but not least.. a place for all the clutter
bilde25mai7.jpg

april 14th the seeds sprouted.they are under 4 x 18w t8's in the mother/veg cab
seedlings.jpg

things were going pretty good and growth was slowly increasing.
by 5th of may they were big enough to go into final container. standard 10 liter buckets (will get some 11 liter sqare containers after this grow)
seedlings1.jpgseedlings3.jpgseedlings2.jpg

and here they are in the 10 liter buckets and moved into flower area. (im still vegging them though)
crop3.jpg
as you can see there is one thats alittle bit slow..my wife calls him the second retard of the house for some reason  but ill give her a chance and see what she will become in the end.

after a few days in vegging a desided to try some different techniques for learning purposes. most of them got Low stress trained, 1 got FIM'ed+pruned alittle.
i also put up a plastic door wit zipper, genious :)
bildelst2.jpgx3bilde.jpg

i forgot to write down wich day each pic is from, but will do so on later posts.
after about 1-1,5 weeks of veg 1 plant got abit droopy and its still alittle droopy.
i belive it might be a PH issue but as i dont have any way of measuring soil PH it will just have to be.. atleast for this grow.
this is the plant im talking about
bilde5.jpg
i also potted up the "retard" at around the same time, as you can see its slowly starting too catch up. shes in the red pot in the middle.
bilde25mai13.jpg
here are some closeup of the Low stress training they were undergoing
bildelst6.jpgbildelst4.jpgbildelst5.jpgbilde25mai17.jpg

there is one plant that i didnt bother LST cus its such a god damn bushy pheno.
have a look. cant complaint on node distance on this one
bushy1.jpgbilde25mai5.jpg

so. i noticed a hermie among the girls and he got temporarily exiled into the mother cabinet with 1 a suspect beeing male. the tall one is the hermie.
bilde25mai9.jpgis a hermie good for anything at all? or should i just kill it asap?

well thats about it for now, i took very little pictures in the beginning as i didnt really plan on making a journal at all.
feel free to comment and i allways apreciate any hint and pointers anyone may have.

here are the girls today 1 week from flowering

Ok was inspecting soil tonight and i noticed there are alot of salt like crystals in the topsoil..
Could this be salt buildup from the neuts?
I only have iphone to take pics with and its no good on small stuff like this

yeah man , that happens to me in coco if i let the medium dry out too much. Its possible that you should be watering more often. How often are you given em water? do you do by schedule , or by feel?

allright.. well i water by feel. i let them dryout so that top 3-4 centimeters of soil feels dry to the touch. usually top 2 centimeters are so dry that its brittle if you know what i mean. so far its usually watering day 1, no water day 2, then watering day 3 and so on.

i water for 60 seconds with my wand wich should be just about 0.75 liters. usually i get a few drops runoff when i hit the 60 sec mark.
also i water with nutes every watering at 75% strength.

you bumpa me i bumpa you : D

dude ... its not the airpots that sucks , its the runoff i have to get with the coco. lol. its a real bitch. ive been having to move my plants to my shower to water them ever other day ... im working on a solution but itll probably take some engineering.

sounds like you have quite the watering routine lol. We need to get someone on this thread who knows a bit about soil to help with that salt buildup. ANYONE?

lights are coming on in a few minutes, ill go have a better look then and its watering time i belive.

1 week more of veg and im gonna flush them before inducing flower. maybe the flushing will deal with the salt?

yeah flushing will straight up flush it out ... lol. but at the same time thats a whole week away. Be careful not to let a small problem become a big one , it happend to me in the coco and i got locked out for a few days ( the salt ). It could be normal though. ANY OTHER GROWERS OUT THERE THAT COULD SHED A LIGHT ON THIS?

sup bro looks good so far. Hit up some more pics of the problem when you get a chance. How often do you water? I know you check the soil moisture depth which is good. Salt buildup wont hurt the plant but over watering will. Also what type of water are you using? Post it up. Peace and happy growing!

thanks man, as i wrote in previous post i only have my iphone to take pics with and cant get close enough to capture theese crystals without it ending in a total blur.. not exactly macro lens on this shit hehe.

i water about every other day with roughly 0.75 liter of water.
im using straight up tap water as we have extremely clean water where i live, i let it sit in reservoir for a day or so with no lid aswell so any chlorine will evaporate... dont even know if we really have chlorine in our water though.

it almost looks like someone sprinkled sugar in my topsoil. the crystals are that size.. maybe a tad smaller only.

Sounds decent dude. I use tap water that I let sit out for at least 24 hours, and it's always worked for me. DO the plants seem to be affected by it? If not then you will be fine.

WeSmkDro

Well-Known Member
True. Why do you let it sit out? so the chlorine doesnt kill all the microbial bacteria in the medium?

no plants looks good to me, havent seen anything yet.
i let my water sit for atleast 24 hours to get the chlorine out and to get it room remp.
my tap water has about 7.4 ph but after a good 24h in the reservoir without lid the ph is down too 6.8
i assume that its because the chlorine has evaporated.
and yes chlorine will kill alot of shit in organic soil mixes

ive never done a test like this with my water. I just put some of my tap in a vile. Ill do a test to see if this occurs with my water as well. Thanks for the ph info. +rep buddy

thank you man, i was just thinking about my hermie plant in the mother\veg cab.. i was gonna kill him but im gonna mutilate him halfway to death with supercropping and see how it works :) will post pics from before and after in a bit

ok so the Hermie that got exiled to the mother\veg cab got supercropped today.
might aswell use it for learning purposes as its not even close to shedding any polled yet.
bilde1.jpg before

bilde2.jpg and after

i mst admit it felt pretty good doing that to him\her ;p

i will come back to this one later with a new pic on how he\she reacted

Love it dude. The best way to see how a strand will react to growing methods is to experiment on the boys and hermies. They will tell you the limits of your strand and then you can transfer the knowledge to the girls. Tap water is always infused with a bunch of garbage no matter where you live. In the city it's chlorine, in the country it's sulfur and iron from well systems. When you let it air out for 24 hours all the gases evaporate from it and the minerals settle leaving clean water for the plants. Luckily I have not had problems with my water but there are lots of pictures of growers that have run into trouble.

I don't see and salt on the soil for that hermie in the picture so you look ok to me. Good to see another grower up on their feet! Best of luck to you and enjoy your bagseed I know I will!

my tap water comes from a glacier though ;) the water that runs out from my kitchen is beeing sold worldwide as expensive bottled water hehe.
i will get a tds next time i go shopping :)

also i found a spider on the hermie today.. small bastard making a web between 2 branches. dunno how he got in there but i belive there was only 1..
probably not so bading having spiders that eat other insects though but i want my growroom clean. he got WTFPWN'ed
