i see we have the same insect removal technique ... lol.
hehe yea best way :)

i was wondering about something.. i bought a large pot for my motherplant. i filled it up now with water to about where the soil line will be to check how much it can hold, and it will contain roughly 26 liters of soil. how long can a mother live in a pot like that before becoming potbound?

Well 26 L of soil give you roughly 6 gallons. It's recommended that you have gallon of soil for every foot of growth you want. If your using LST or differen't training techniques you may want more then a gallon per foot. I am in 2 gallons of soil with my flowering females and they are about 4 feet tall. Drinking water really fast now though I am pushing the limit but as long as they're into flowering you shouldn't have a problem. If you want to go big add a bunch of perlite to your soil to improve airflow. Perlite mixes allow more growth with less soil. Good luck and happy growing!

this is good to know. Ive heard the 1 gallon to every foot rule too. Im in air pots though , im thinking my 3 gallons should do the trick throughout my grow. im ready for some pics of those chicks in veg!

ok ill keep this pot then and give it a try, only 1 week left before i select a mom among the girls :)

worst case scenario ill have to repot hehe no biggie. or even prune the roots.

Yea air pots have a much better ratio. The more air you can get into the soil and to the roots the less room they need to grow.

You're gonna make one bitch very happy lol. Can't wait to see some more pics. I love the avatar I can't get enough, make sure the pot you use has good drainage that's as important as the size. Unless your going balls out huge before you flower the pot size should be good. For the mother you can replant her whenever. Most plants are very tolerant when they are in constant veg state. I've dropped mine clear out of their pots upside down and they came back stronger then before. I don't recommend it but after a while you find that weed is hard to kill and grows very easily, especially in good soil!

hehe yea this avatar is pretty nice :) best marley image there is :)

the soil for the mother will be alot higher in perlite ratio then i guess. i have a 50 liter bag of perlite ready so should be ok :)

i also found out that this is the maximum size motherpot i can have in this cabinet as i can barely take it in and out without turning it sideways hehe, might have to rething my mother\veg cabinet..

anyways, ive been struggling alittle bit the last few days with temps in my grow as summer is coming. every day is hotter than the one before so i desided to switch my 400w mh for 400w hps as i hear they run alittle bit cooler.

i might have too invest in a secondary exhaust system also.. will see.

also my house is really smelling now.. i can smell them even outside.. and im still in veg.. really getting nervous about the flowering lol

here are a few pics of the ladies today after the bulb switch

Probably the temps, if you feel hot it may be too hot for them. They like it 80 or under. Grab a thermometer for the grow room and keep an eye on it. Also check your humidity, the levels are really high right now. I have a dehumidifier running and it gets emptied almost every 2 days. Humidity should be 60-75 you can get a cheap gauge for that too if you want.

The smell will get stronger and they will get bigger. Look into LST techniques to keep growth in a bush form. That will also help in overall yield.

humidity is stable at 30% no matter what the hell i do hehe. the temps are 28 celcius at peak during lights on and 20 celcius at night at the lowest.
they have been lst'd btw.. as you can see in the pictures

smell wise my new order from the local store is arriving tomorrow with a brand new 450 m3\h carbon filter and a shitload of nutes, clonex ect. :)

"grab a thermometer for the growroom"

i have 9 of them spread out in the grow so i constantly know locations of heat buildup.

so would 28 celcius be so hot that they stall growth+..

That's pretty cold it may, I'll have to look it up. The plants will end up fine though as long as they stay green. Sorry I am pretty novice at this point. Keep looking in the forum you will find the answers.

another question here, you see the pictures of my veg cabinet. planning on keeping a mother in there but how much light would this mother need?
i currently have 4 x t8 tubes putting out 1350 lumen each. so 5400 lumen in that cab from the top.. will that be enough to keep her vegging decently or should i maybe add some tubes going vertically in the corners?

All the ladies seemed to get more droopy by the day and with the possible salt buildup in mind i desided it was time to flush even if it is a few days left for flipping the switch to 12\12

also noticed that drainage is not as good as it should be with this soilmix and will defenitly use more perlite next time as it took forever to flush theese bastards.

here are a couple pics of the flushing

godamn thats quite the grow you got goin there, your gonna have a real nasty yield, and about your cab, that lighting for one mother should be sufficient, but the addition of those tubes in the corner, if you were able to keep em close enough, would help you grow out more clones from the side of the main stem, nice work haze

thank you eazyrider :) aslong as i get 50 grams per plant im happy hehe. my first grow so dont have any expectations really. more clones does sound good as im planning to grow maybe 25-30 at the time from that one mother :P
