First Grow ~$700 Budget~ What Would You Do/Recommend? ~ 6X6X6 Grow Cabinet

Hey guys, require some help, I'll try to make it as straight forward as possible.


-6X6X6 Grow cabinet, is my maximum size, I want to grow 2-3 plants, so if this is too big, tell me.


-Growing Afghan Kush and Pineapple Chunk


-Lighting, I'm planning on using CFL Grow lights for the vegetative state (3 weeks right?) , they will be 150-180 Watts , not sure how many I need though
->Also might add a couple low watt 6500k cfl's, yes/no?


-Lighting for FLOWERING, not sure if I should use CFL or HPS.\
->IF CFL, will use CFL grow lights, 150 watts, 2700k.
->IF HPS, will use either 150 watts/250 watts/400 watts/ all at 2000k, I don't know which one, so please help
-->I am more inclined towards CFL's because of the no heat issue, I don't know if I can get a good enough ventilation system set up to deal with the heat. (for HPS)


-Nutrients, I want to use General Hydroponics Flora Series, yes/no?


-I will be doing a RDWC, Recirculating Deep Water Culture, because seems like it will work the best.
-I'll have 1 tank inside the closet, which all 2-3 plants will be in, then my reservoir will be outside my grow cabinet.


-Im going to get a carbon filter, with an inline fan probably, don't know how many cfm yet though.


-My grow cabinet will have maybe passive intake, or I should to normal intake with a fan?




Anyways I have like ~$700 budget, my goal is to produce maximum yields with quality stuff, asking for a lot Ik.

smaller plants maybe 5-9 under 3 or 4 feet and 1000 hps bulb.a 6 inch inline fan (under a 100) and a air cooled hood 4x4 flood tray sit it on concrete blocks or 5 gallon buckets (grow them however you want in it but it will make life much easier) by most of it on e bay or craigslist slightly used (You can by a portable ac used for cheep) in the winter on craigslist.
for the bulb get a sylvania or eyco from greentree hydro online maybe 30 or 40 bucks or on e bay. Dont grow them so big or you will get lots of shit fluffy buds.

P.S make sure you get a 1000 watt and not any less

I think some people get confused and start to live out there grow plan tru others ..he didnt mention anything about a ac where did u get all of that ? Concrete blocks ? Wtf ?

U have 700$ u need to add up all of ur expenses first b4 buying anything ..

1.lighting 600 watt dimmable ..there's a apollo brand and Ipower brand that's cheap and reliable and u can dim it to 300 watts or high as 600 -175$

2.grow tent ..6x6x6 is way to big ..look into getting a 3x3 or 4x2 or if u have the space 4x4 -125$

3.for veg u can dim the 600watt with a MH bulb so u won't really need to buy any cfls ..but if heat is an issue a 2ft T5 2 or 4lamp will produce virtually no heat in that tent - I suggest htg supply 110watt pll -70$

4. GH nutes are good organic and hard to burn your plants with ..$??

5.rdwc I'm a soil man myself so I don't really kno much about hydro so I'm guessing someone else can chime in but if u have a rdwc system that u think u can handle go for it

6.inline fan + filter combo ..I say get a 4inch inline fan combo and a 6 inch to 4 inch duct reducer so ur cool tube or whatever hood u choose can be air cooled ..100-130$ Max it gonna be run like this
Filter --->light --->inline fan --> clean scrubbed air out of tent ->

That's everything u need for the major stuff ..u might find urself buying little stuff here and there like rooting gel for clones rapid rooters ..humidome etc ..but that won't be till later ..lets add everything up

U have 140$ left ..if u decide to just dim ur hps u won't have to buy the pll so you'll have 210$ left

I would invest in some leds , cfls are kind of inefficent though they are very cheap but if you have 700$ i would get some smaller high quality leds , its worth the price because they give you way more bud per watt and a spectrum that the plants find very easy to absorb while producing little heat meaning you can hang them right above your canopy, unlike hid lights that you need to hang way above the canopy and have a soution for the heat! Though they are fairly effective i dont like them

For a 6x6', I'd look for a 1000w dimmable (HID). That way, if you can keep heat in check with your inline fan, you can run it full blast.

If you have 6' of height, I'd veg the plants for at least five to six weeks. Get as much growth as possible. Top/fim to create bushiness.

A 440 CFM fan should work well with a filter. Just get your lamp with an air cooled hood, and suck the air through the filter, and push out through the lamp and outside of the tent.

Note that a 400w is good for up to 3x3, a 600w up to 4x4 and 1kW up to 5x5. Don't buy undersized if your tent is that big. You'll regret it and eventually want to upsize anyhow. A 1000w with aircooled is not a whole lot more money than a 400w.
