First Grow Autos

Nice grow going. My first grows ever were autos...over 15 yrs ago. Ain't missed a beat since even through moves. Autos should be called timex...takes a beating and keeps on ticking. Tough little suckers but they have their limits.
Nice setup...a heat mat would solve root zone temps in germ. Your double cups will make trans easier and safer...that's my method 100% of the time. A caution I'll share is while happy frog got you to this point, why not use it as final since you've obviously got watering down well. FFOF can be a bit hot for autos and may give ya a fit when happy frog roots hit the new shit. I usually trans at 1 week. Seldom have a stunt.
No input on pot size as I've never grown in anything bigger than 1 gal....ease of handling is a biggie when you been doing it perpetually for 15 yrs. Also much much easier to water properly.
Let me add...while I germ everything on 24/0 under T5HO for 3 weeks, all are moved to a flower area on 12/12.....autos stay on their genetic schedule regardless and I can grow a photo anytime I wish which I do often.
You'll find autos need less nutes than photos...aamof, a lot less. Auto genetics do not allow for much recovery time so pushing the rope will get you a tangle.
Really like this post, just wondering do you still stay on the 1 gallon pot when doing photos.

I noticed 2/3 plants have droopy, slightly twisted leaves.... before transplant...
was this possibly an over watering issue while in the solo cup? temps hold steady at 76, so I cant see it being heat related... :confused:PXL_20210101_043442451.jpg

I know leaves curling upward can sometimes indicate light stress. If that is the issue, usually dimming the light or moving the light higher does the job. But, I am kind of a novice grower. So, take that with a grain of salt.

i can see the light being too intense. its a 480w fixture on max, but its 40 inches above the plants.
guess ill dim it a bit and get a small heater for now.

out of their cups and into their homes. double cup worked great. hopefully all is well with them.

are these autos? From my understanding a plant will know if its in a smaller pot and grow more rapidly, in theory what you're doing with stacked solo cups makes sense, but everything I read online suggests it still stunts an autoflower

How did these girls get on in the end? Thinking about doing the same so I can get my second grow started

they are autos. not sure if transplant stunted growth at all. this is my first run. my next go may also be auto flowers, so i might try straight to final pots with them.
these plants are now 21 days old.PXL_20210111_020807943.jpg

Question for Oldreefer: are you saying that You veg your photos under 12/12 ?
ive only grown a few Auto’s and they were all short (16inches ) utilizing 16/8 !
As it turns out , I overfertilized the first Autos and they never grew properly.

I veg all...autos and photos... on 24/0....move to 12/12 at 3 weeks. Constant and perpetual rotation. I grow in small 2-3 ltr pots and unless I top, most shoot to 24-30 inches out of pot.
