i believe the smart pots are made out of a heavy duty felt, he was suggesting i make my own containers. wich is not a bad idea and can customize sizes for my grow room without sacrificing the amount the pot can hold.

yeah I'm guna stick with the cheap o plastic ones for now, already got em all and whatnot...i think i want to try dwc or some form of hydro soon. my plants are...HUGE right now. lol. pics later tonight or tomorrow, but, HOLY SHIT!
amped to have my cabs set up too. both are completely set up, fans, timers, etc. all i have to do now is water! i will take detailed pics of the whole setup next time I'm able...

my only current concern is that it is FUCKING COLD. like it topped out at like 7 degrees fahrenheit yesterday, and today it doesn't look any better. with the new fan (bigger, 6 in 250cfm) on the flower cab, i can't be sure it even reaches 75 degrees...i think maybe around 70 is more likely, and the low at night is 47.
nothing i can do about it, aside from getting space heaters. not bill friendly, those space heaters. our gas bill was OUTRAGEOUS last month, so i can't go consuming more power.
oh btw the exhaust fan(s) are hooked up to the timer(s), which are now located outside the box. can't quite figure out a way to thermostat em, as theres not a lot of room IN the box...and the power strips are outside the box now...
its guna be a weird flowering. I'm guessing they will just take longer...
aside from ALL that they look really good right? lol
i wana know their sexes so i can start cloning! AARRGGHHH!

im pretty sure you can pick up a digital thermostat at wal mart for like 8 bucks, just rig the fans up to that. and set it. not sure if they provide power or if they just controll it or how they aork but im sure you can figure something out as you seem pretty handy DIYer

yeah thats kinda what i figured, thanks man. i shut the flower exhaust off for a couple hours last night, it got plenty warm, and condensation all over the exhaust. think it will probably b better to just let it do its thing.
can't wait to cull and clone. how soon do u think ill see sex matt?

the general rule is 4 weeks from poping above ground but the burn issues you had most likely set you back a week so at the 5-6 week mark? i really dont know tbh but the 12/12 will speed up the process.
also they wont show until there sexually mature so strain dependant could be 2 days could be 2 week

Like matt said, I wouldn't be too concerned about temps. I purposely run my lights during the day so that it drops below 50 at night - technically they will grow slower but for me it really helps with keeping mite populations under control. As long as it doesn't drop too much below 45 at night you should be ok. 70 is fine for the day.
Also like matt said they really differ on showing sex but generally males show first.
If you get really concerned about heat you can always throw one of these into your box for the night - much less energy than a space heater and it emits no light -

I just finished reading through your thread, It looks like you've had quite an adventure. When I first saw those seedlings getting burned leaves, I was having some doubts, Buts its incredible what they have turned into. Quite impressive being your first grow, keep up the good work.

I'm really excited to pull the males and clone some females. wana get the 3 i have in the veg cab into flower soon too, the pots they are in are waayyy too big for the veg cab. I'm actually hoping that 3/6 in flower will be male lol...just to make room!

new to the PC gaming world...i am a computer science major/programmer/develeoper/geek/computer teacher...but i havent played a lot of pc games. on recommendation, just got into team fortress 2...sorta.
anyway, yup didnt even open the cabs last night. lol. i guess once i eat dinner and sit on the couch for a lil bit after with a beer, and a bowl, its hard to not go to bed at like 10pm. lol. im so OLD!!! jk...but seriously...
