This will be my grow journal for everyone who wants to keep up with my endeavors. I have done more research on growing these than anything else I've ever researched. Ever since I was about thirteen, oh the nostalgia. Back then I was not a pot smoker, but I always had a fascination with the plants and knew one day I would be growing my own. Now I'm a all day toker, and life just wouldn't be the same without my marijuana.
This grow happened out of a couple reasons, first I had money on hand. Second, I needed marijuana and am sick of dealing with dealers. Three, I found marijuana a preferable alternative to adderall. Four, I had the time to set up the grow tent and all the light.
I started out planning to grow with CFL's in a stealth grow configuration. I knew that would never give me enough bud to smoke like I do. The budget was originally 250$, since that is what it would cost me to buy another ounce. But when I decide to do something, I do it properly. That 250$ turned into about 600$ very quickly. I invested in a 400w digital ballast with MH and HPS bulbs. Bought some fertilizers, a ph kit, a grow tent, some pots to grow my babies in, a 5 gallon bucket to start a vermicompost, a squirrel cage blower, quality feminized seeds, industrial strength velcro,a 20 lb bag of organic coco coir pre-built soil and of course every growers friend duct tape.
You may notice I do not have ventilation ducting, and I really wish I did. Currently I decided to positively pressure the tent with a squirrel cage blower, and that seems to work well for stimulating good stems. It also keeps the temperatures in a reasonable range. I am currently trying to figure out how to raise the humidity in the tent.
I started my feminized white widows in big five gallon pots, since I did not want to give them any amount of stress if could be avoided. The bag seed, and a big bud seed are currently in thirty two ounce pots. I plan to buy some grow bags and plant them all in three gallon bags. My grow period will be two weeks vegetative growth first time around, and all of the seeds that I know the characteristics of flower within ten weeks. The reason for the short vegetative period is I'm moving out in four months, and need to have a finished crop so I can break everything down quickly without having any incriminating evidence in sight. I plan to make a clone box out of a tool box, and use that to transplant the clones to their new home.
You may post in my thread with advice if you so please, and keep any arguments polite. I have not got a timer yet, so the lights are on 24/7 till I can get one next week. College student working on a limited budget.
Now for the reason these particular strains are of medical use to me. First of all any head high seems to help me keep focused, and have noticed that when I go to work on a head high I am twice as efficient when I work. Which is better than adderall without any of the nasty side effects. I also suffer from insomnia at times, so the big bud and bag seeds are indica dominant plants. Which put me into lala land which is perfect for sleeping.
My expectations are eight to twelve ounces of high quality bud, grown using all organic ferts and organic growing medium. I'm making a reasonable estimate that half of my regs will turn into females, this is a pessimistic assumption. Since I plan on giving them a high nitrogen feed of mexican bat guano. Keeping them in a warm stress free environment with proper humidity should increase chances of a female. With four plants, a reasonable yield would be six to twelve ounces.
I also have bubble bags for making hash, so I will end up with probably 10-16grams of quality hash. Now without further adue, here is some pictures of the babes. These plants are not even a week old yet, but they're growing so fast!
This is the smaller white widow, respectable leaves compared to the other same age plants, and definitely a fine example of a healthy plant.
This is the bigger white widow, it's not quite in the center of the pot. I'm not sure if a transplant to the middle of the pot is worth it, and if anyone has some advice I'd
appreciate it. This pot has an extra two gallons of space than will actually be required to grow it in my time period. This is the plant I judge all my other plants on, since it is growing so vigorously.
Big bud in a 32 oz pot, this seedling has had a rough life, and its growth so far for the stress I put it through is commendable. I had to transplant this poor little plant from the plant my feminized white widow was in. Since I was really stoned when I planted the white widow, it got planted in a pot which I thought had nothing in it. (Passed out after I planted my seeds) Since I did not want to risk transplanting it later, and harming the vigorously growing white widow. This little plant is sturdy as fuck, it wilted over when I transplanted it. I woke up this morning, and it had grown, corrected itself, all whilst overcoming the stress I put it through. The treatment for the stress was light misting, and watering this babe in with 1/2 teaspoon super thrive in one gallon of water.
The three bag seeds are doing quite well for bagseeds. I'm going to try to bring out the full potential of these plants, whoever grew them must of accidentally let a male pollinate some of the flowers. Since some of the bud in the bag was pretty potent, while some of it had seeds in it.
