First grow, drooping leaves and slight burn on one leaf.

So this is my first grow and it's going pretty well. I have them under four CFL 100 watt lights with a space blanket around them to make better use of the light. They are doing pretty well for the most part, however some of them are drooping, and one has a slight burn on one of the large leafs. I started them in jiffy peat pellets and put them in a Red Solo Cup with some miracle grow potting soil. The leaves are firm though and not flimsy. I wanted to know if anybody could tell me what I'm doing wrong or if this is normal.

They appear to be suffering from overwatering. Let them dry way out before watering again. Also miracle grow is crammed with nutrients and has been responsible for burning up new marijuana plants for years.

Well I just flushed them out until the water was almost clear to flush the miracle grow. And now I have a good fan on then and I'll let them dry out. I'll post an update tomorrow or the next day.

...by "dry out" that typically means the root system. Seedlings need very little of anything.
If you are a new grower there are 2 things a new grower will typically do ( I did it too) and that is, they will over-water them, and then later on they will burn them with nutrients

Do the cups feel heavy or are they almost as light as if they're almost empty cups? The lift check is something you want to get down with.
I'm not a Miracle Gro fan so couldnt help ya there. They should be getting enough light. They dont seem to be exactly enjoying themselves right now.

When were those pics taken?
As soon as the lights went on, etc..?

Watering regimen?

MG soil comes with nutes already in the soil You dont need to add any nutes until the plant starts to ask for it...
If you didnt add any nutes, you're fine... They may burn a little but the plants will be fine...

As a matter of fact they look healthy.. I wouldnt worry about it...

I removed then from the solo cups, shook off a lot of the miracle grow and planted them in larger pots with soil that has no nutes in it at all. I also placed them in a window seal to let them get direct sunlight. After I did that they perked right up and have been growing very strong. After all is said and done I think that the miracle grow was really killing them.

Make sure you have proper drainage. Most people have had issues at one time or another from overwatering, it.s very easy to do especially without proper drainage. When I start my grow, I use solo cups (after rapid rooter germinates seed). When ready to transplant new seedling, I start the process by stacking 6 cups together and drilling 6-8 holes in the bottoms for drainage.

I then take another solo cup (undrilled) and fill it with 1.5" of small pebble sized rocks. Next, I take my drilled cups w/ soil/ transplanted seedling and place it into the cup with rocks & without holes. This way I never have to worry about root rot or plants being suffocated from too much water, roots do need to breathe, not just drink. I do the same thing when transplanting to bigger pots. I find with proper drainage plants only need water every few days. That's with fan on 18/6 and temps at an average of 78 degrees.

Other than that your plants look good and like jkahndb0 said, they should be just fine. After a whole you will learn what your plants are needing and be able to give it to them before they show any serious signs. I"ll attach some pictures of the drainage system that I use. Happy growing man! :hump:

20140410_080646.jpg 20140410_080653.jpg Okay so I have a few questions.
the first one is what is happening to my girls? The leaves on the bottom are turning yellow with brown spots. This happened about a week after I planted them outdoors. They're planted in Scott's premium top soil. I am using miracle grow organic blood meal. I don't want them to die.

My second question is. A are they small for their age? They are 6 and a half weeks old. The strain is auto amnesia haze blueberry hybrid. I put a dollar bill next to it for reference.

Additional info: I'm in mid Florida. I have not ph tested the soil because I can't find a tester for cheaper than 50.

Thank you for your help guys.
