how far away is the light from the top of the canopy man? if its within 8 inches you shouldnt get a whole lot of stretch, plants tend to stay a safe distance from the hps, or atleast thats what i notice with my box, they grow right into the cfls that act as my suplementary lights though. also at 85f they are going to suck up water fast, what i did for my box was put in one of the 50 cfm ventalation fans for bathrooms, pick them up at any ace hardware or home depot for 30 bucks, dril 2 3 injch holes at the bottom of the box and mount the fan in the top corner out of the way on the opposite side from the holes, it will suck all the heat out of the box, you may even have to put in a thermo switch like i did to keep it from getting too cold, depending on where your box is and the temps in the rest of the room.

i have it like 16-18 inches from the canopy,but only because the temps are kinda high,and when i had the light any closer than that the radiant heat betwene the light and canopy was burning my hand..i have a 165cfm inline right in the middle of the light and the canopy,it is strong enought to bring new cool air in threw the cracks in the closet door,also a 8inch desk fan blowing over the canopy and on blowing over the light hood.

its been about 5 days in flower now,and with lights on the temp stays just under 90F all the time,today it was a steady 86F,were as 2 days ago it was at 90F all day..i figured it depends on the temp of my room being that the air is being pulled from the room into the closet,and some days my house gets coldd!
because of my job and the hours of the flower cycle i am not able to see them on fridays and saturdays.so i will have updated pics this week

good luck this time around bro! im in my first bloom, day 18, 1 600w hps. do you have a little fan pointed at the light? this would bring down the temps 10*?

im thinking that you are going to have to find a way to get cooler air into the closet, maybe trim the door about an inch off the bottom or something.

yea i have one blowing over the tops of the plants..and one above the light blowing down onto it,but now that i got a day off im going to take that one out and reposition it.

yea good idea,but its one of those cardboard like doors,that is 100% hollow lol. the temps havnt seemd to cause any problems,only ive herd that constant high temps will have some effect on the potency of the bud?

higher temps will degrade the thc supposedly, the flip side of that is that thc degrades into canabinoids that have favorable side effects too, how much degradtion is too much? depends on if u like a couchlock or up high, less heat equals less thc break down, better up high, more heat equals more thc breakdown equals a couchlock or body high with more pain killing effects. effects of heat will differ from plant to plant and upon oyther growing conditions, i usually dry and cure about half my buds at different temps so i get different highs from the same plant.

the door should have about a 4 inch strip of pressed wood at the bottom. its made to be trimmed for floor clearance, an inch shouldnt hurt it too much.

so im one week into flower now, got some preflowers goin and alot of stretch..i moved the light a little closer seeing how the temp hasnt been an issue of any kind. they seem to be doing great,not much more to say lol.

i also got some rubbermaids and slaped together a little half ass box for some clones and to veg them and others in when they take root..it seems to be working fine, despite how it looks lol. well heres the pics

things look bitchin man. you still got like 2 weeks of stretch left to go, keep that light on top of them to control the hieght as much as possible early on and keep you fingers crossed that they dont run out of room. for future grow remember that the size pot you use will limit the size of you plants, with your hieght restrictions id say shoot for no more than a 2.5 gal container.

yea i know,thats what i have them in now. 2.5g..ive been gradualy lowering the light link by link the past 2 days...trying to see how close i can get it.
i hope they dnt get to big i have like maybe another 6 inches i can bring the light up,after that if they need more room i guess i can bust out the chop saw and figure how to lower the them..just really dont want to have to i feel like i never stop fabricating and altering my grow areas, i would just like to sit back and watch them grow lol..well see wher it goes

thanks man,i hope so..so long as nothing goes wrong from here,ive never had the best of luck,just today making that rubbermaid box i got careless and put a box cutter about 1/4 inch into my palm lmfao

lol ya im good,nothing some rubbing alchohol and duct tape cant fix lolol..so anyway i put some poland spring bottle diy co2 dispenser jammies in there,i havnt seen any dif in them and its been in there for the past 10 hours..but i dno how that stuff works,just figured id give it a whirl. if anyone has had any experiences wit doing thiss feel free to tell me about it. i work late the next 3 days so i wont be able to see them,let alone get some updated pics...so by the next time we all see them they should have some noticable growth goin on

also should i be trying to aid the drastic yellowing and dying off i got goin on?..i know its normal later into flower but this early? should i ad some N or some one said CAL MAG or somthing?

i feed some of my plants veg nutes durring the first 2-3 weeks of flower just depending on how many leaves are falling off, a few down at the bottom when no light hits is ok but a lot and all over means u need to hit them with some N.

hey what seed bank do you use? and what is the matting on the walls? is it just tin foil? when should i transplant from small pots to big ones like that.
