Yeah that is what makes it hard for me to estimate a yield. What I can say is that she is 37 inches tall and due to the mutation she has 11 nodes each with three branches giving a total of 33 heads from the lower branches and very dense main cola (33% more bud due to the mutation). The top and upper nodes are obviously more dense than the lower nodes since I am using CFLs.I don't know i have no way os scaling it down, but yeah i'd give her a feeding too if shes got 2 weeks left.
Yeah it is getting close! I read briefly about leaving the plant under 72 hours of darkness to increase THC potency. It sounds promising. I am open to try it. I haven't read about the ice water flush method. I will have to look into that. My only concern with that is if it will cause huge problems if I try and re-veg. Your Kali is tall! That sounds about the right height for Kali. Even though mine is 38 inches tall, I would say that if I actually measured the main meristem including all of its curves from LST (it looks like an integral symbol) it would be closer to 48 inches. I think the mutation in my plant also helped keep it a little shorter.Getting close man! Are you going to let her finish in the dark? I read something about doing the final flush with ice water; not sure if there's any validity to that method. My Critical Kali has two 5 ft. main stems now.. not as dense as yours though. She's going to go at least a week or two longer than the others.
Yeah that is a good plan harvesting in segments. It may be a good idea to chop one of the larger main branches that looks most done so that I can do a better compare. I guess I am most concerned about when to chop my main cola.Best advice I have heard is to take some early, take some cloudy, and then let some go until the leaves are all golden. Then you can see what you like the best for this strain. I have seen some of the OGs just keep growing and growing as long as there are lights and nutes.
Syn311, are you in CA?
I think at this point you could harvest and be really happy with it, but it might be a matter of what kind of high you're looking for. If you like to get stoned then I'd wait until you see more amber in your Trichs. On the other hand, if you're more into the heady, clear buzz, I'd cut the lights and take her down soon.Hey everyone! For those that have been following my mutant Kali Mist thread I have a question for you. I would love to hear your input on when I should harvest. Based on what you see from my day 62 pre-harvest chop of one of my lower branches, do you think I should harvest in the next few days, at day 70, or day 77 and later?
My tricomes all look cloudy and most of my pistils have changed color. The calyxes on my larger branches are mostly hard and swollen. So if I was going just off of those indicators for when to chop I would say it is ready. However, since this is my first grow I am only going off of what I have read rather than experience.
+Rep for any useful input!
Thanks!
will u be quick drying or will you let her cure for some days? =) looking forward to your smoke reportWell I decided to cut another one of my branches off today. This branch is about average of in size compared to all of my other branches. It weighed over 23 grams right after the chop and over 19 grams a few hours after trimming. It is super sticky and I have a nice little ball of hash built up on my trimming scissors. I hung this one up to dry inside some paper bags. When dry I am thinking this will be a 5 gram bud.
Thanks man. This is a good read. However I don't know if a sativa dominate hybrid like my Kali Mist should go until it is 30% amber. I think that is a bit too long IMO. I like strong sativas because they are active and very cerebral with minimal couch lock. I thought this type of active high would be best obtained when you have the highest % of cloudy tricomes.Hey man if you're still looking for harvest guidance read Sub's "Amber Alert" thread.
Thanks Doc.Personally i check when its ready to harvest using my little microscope, to see the cloudy and amber ratio.
Other then that its pretty touchy to judge by the naked eye if its ready, but i usually like to wait til my leaves turn yellow. After that the trichomes really start turning amber quick. my 2 cents Good luck dude!
