Hey guys, so im pretty new here and on my first grow... doing a bit of experimentation as to whats going to work best for me... I have a little hydro/rockwool set up and some plants in pots of earth... All about 3 weeks old. I have 1 400 watt hps light, and a 4 foot 2 bulb t8 florescent fixture with 6500k bulbs. I am aiming for my plants to be maximum 2.5 feet tall.

i got my seeds from A-B-seeds cannabis marijuana seeds sell
i am using optimum hydroponix nutrients, with magical supplement and hygrozyme.... so far i havent given any nutrients to my plants in the pro mix... the girls in the hydro are having a bit of a hard time, had some dying leaves, was overwatering at first, too much nutes, not enough, etc..... just little problems, and keep in mind this is my first grow, so im really learning!

3 weeks in and my plants are all about 5-6 inches tall with 4-6 nodes... I know pictures speak more than words, so i will be getting some pictures as soon as i get my camera, hopefully this weekend!

If anyone would like to comment, ask me any questions, give me suggestions, please feel free to! Ive had allot of help from members on this board, especially skunkushybrid who really knows allot and is super cool!!

So i guess thats it... pics will be up soon, of my whole set up, and my plants. and i will be updating every day or couple of days depending on my progress !!

until then .....:joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint::joint:

Hey thanks for the compliment moby'... I don't think the pic's actually say much more than words, we just like looking at pic's of plants. Gets us off.

Nothing better than a bit of cultivator porn.:hump::hump:

well after a few days of some serious leaf drooping and spotting, a bunch of lower leaves died.... it seems i wasnt giving them enough nutrients, they were growing slow, i thaught maybe it was a ph problem, or nutrient lock up in the rockwool..... i did a flush, and that didnt help... made the plants even more spotted and droopy..... yesterday morning i watered them with a 3/4 strength nutrient mix and they loved it. this morning they are all looking a bit better... and growing again.... im sure in a couple of days all their leaves will be back pointing up...... do you guys think i should cut all the leaves with spots and that are yellow? if i do wheres the best place to cut the leaves? near the main stem, or closer to the leaf?

I just got a camera, and pics will be up very soon !

Well, its exactly 3 weeks and 2 days, here are some pics, im still having problems, droopy leaves, golden spots, i tried a flush..... i tried more nutrients, problem seems to still be getting worse.... its not bugs... ive even tried to add some magical, a nutrient supplement... i water them every day for about 10 minutes.... ph is stable at 5.5, and it doesnt fluctuate much only when i refill the resevoir then i readjust to 5.5

here are some pics, if anyone has some ideas please feel free to post them!

I can't see any spots. On the second pic' there's signs of very slight overnute to the leaf tips. Aside from the hectic time they've had recently I think they look fine.

Maybe the spots are not showing up on the pic's... but the plants look fine to me.

So i adjusted my nutrient solution again.....

here are pics of the dying, well now dead leaves.... i thaught it was much easier to take the pics after the leaves were cut....

plants are about 7-9 inches tall, the top of a couple of them dont seem to be pointing straight up, a little crooked, is that normal? i got a pic...

Yeah, after your problems in the beginning, things will start picking up now. they'll start looking really nice, quite quickly. Couple of weeks, you won't recognise them.

my roots are very white with a little bit of a brownish tint towards the ends of some of the longer ones

I think they've suffered with a calcium overdose, which has led to a deficiency of mg.

Trouble with this is that a calcium deficiency would give the same symptoms. But, you have been using a cal/mag supplement. So it must be calcium overdose.

Trouble with calcium is that it moves really slowly through the plant... and there are no cures that I know of for an intoxication of this nute... aside from flush, flush. Then add a balanced nute feed.

well, 2 weeks later and the plants seem to be doing great, i started flowering 2 days ago and just changed my res to flowering nutes...... i did a little less than 3/4 strength

since the last update the plants have grown a ton, they are all 16-20 inches tall and most have recovered from the calcium overdose/mg defiency..... ive been spraying them with epsom salt water when i turn off the lights and i think that has also helped.

ill get some pics up soon!

Yes... although there are usually two white hairs.

You can see where you had your ph problems, but all in all you're doing ok for your first grow. With everything you learn on this one you'll be able to carry it forward on the next one.
