No I agree too.. if he has six plants in there Loyalty could run out of room quickly.

I'm running out of room with 2 big plants and 2 small plants in my 3 x 3 room and we are both running the same size lights

but I also wanna see those buds start too! (my own self interest)

admit it you just wanna see some bud pron after following this grow too *wink wink nudge nudge

Owatonna to be exact, it's a pretty boring town right on I-35, about 40 min south of Lakeville.
I'm very familiar with owatonna. Ya'll got a big ass cabelas there! I used to drive through all the time on my way to winona. Maybe we will have to hook up someday. You got anything growing bro?

While peeking at the girls before work this morning, I noticed and killed a gnat. This has been about the 7th gnat I've seen this entire grow. I've hunted down and killed everyone I've seen. Is this a cause for concern? Hardly any kind of infestation, but I don't want the little bastards eating my roots. So is just a few ok, or should I buy some sand and put a layer over the top of my soil?

here is what i found. hope this helps!

Fungus Gnats
Fungus gnats like to feed on roots of the plants and organic matter. Adults and larvae live in moist, shady areas. The adults lay there eggs on top of the soil, near the base of the stem and takes about 4 days to hatch. The larvae will start by eating the root hairs of the plant then working their way up the plant, Fungus gnats like to eat organic matter so they will be stealing away nutrients from your plants, so its best to get rid of them completely.

If plants are outdoors, check the soil of plants before taking them back indoors for adult gnats or their larvae.

Prevent indoor entry of gnats by making sure there is no open windows open without screens on. Aug is a bad time for them as they are worst that time of the year.

Put sticky traps on the soil surface to trap the gnats

Put potato slices on the surface of the soil. The larvae like it and will be drawn to it.. After about 4 to 5 days, remove the potato slices with the larvae. To get rid of them you can do a lot of things like either use a NO pest strip, neem oil or putting sand on the surface of the soil will suffocate the eggs and get rid of them as well. Tobacco juice kills them, and works well for re-occurrences!

They can be in or on the soil and can fly. In order to get rid of them you can use neem oil, sand on the surface again kills them, and no pest strips catch the ones that fly. A chemical product called Zone works very well and is very powerful and works well in hydro!
Other Products which can be used in hydro and soil are:
Chemicals
Hot Pepper Wax,Safer Yard & Garden Insecticide (which can be used right to the day of harvest),GNATROL( used in hydro in the water as well as soil),Doc's Neem Pest Soap,Safer Sticky Stakes,TR-11000 Pyrethrum.

Picture 4 shows the fungus gnat.
Picture 5 shows there larvae (Picture contributed by: Chocobot hour)

haha thanks buddy, did you see the potato thing? might save you a few bucks
Yeah I did, in fact I have some old potatoes I could get rid of. I think ill still do the sand just to be sure I get em all and be sure that they won't return. May as well throw a few potatoe wedges on top also :)

MINI UPDATE:

Not much to report. I watered yesterday with another 1/2 strength dose of nutes. Next water will be plain water. I'm having to water every two days. Never made it to home depot for sand. Did throw a few potato wedges in there to attract larvae, if there even are any. A few shots right at lights on. A tiny bit droopy, they are just waking up though. I suppose that's about it.
