well the mini cutting i tried to clone is actually surviving along with my other 5 so that is pretty exciting. iI also added some peices of a mirror i broke to the inside of my cabinet because i know there cant be anything much more reflective than a mirror. right??? I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that if you have them use them so that is what im doing except every time i move something in my cab i am in fear of cutting myself on the razor sharp edges! lol oh well im not scared. But my cab dose look a little more organized. anyone have suggestions for fan noise reduction im using cpu fans and they just seem put off more noise than i feel comfortable.

a rubber or foam gasket in between the fan and whatever your mounting it to will help, also, if you try to mount your fan on something sturdy(that wont rattle as much) somewhere near a corner or supportting wall of your cab, instead of like in the middle of a shelf of the middle of a flat wall. it helps alot.

also if you hook up PC fans to an AC adapter that has a variable volatge output, (easy to find at the thrift store or a pawn shop) then you can knock em down to like 5-9 volts and it runs alot quiter, just test to see how much you need to keep it cool in the cab

Mirrors aren't as reflective as you would think. Much intensity is lost as the light passes through the glass twice. Get some mylar, it will work much better.

i am going to try making some sort of gasket just have to find a suitable material to do so and my fans are both in corners of my cab and they are screwed to the cabinet

i have a 100ft roll of military grade thick ass mylar and it isn't nearly as reflective as my mirrors and those saftey blankets from walmart arent worth the time since they tear like tisue paper im going to take a few pics will have them on in a little bit

Safety blankets are pretty weak admittedly, but rethink the thick stuff you got. Mirrors give back a more accurate image because the glass is very smooth and uniform, but the silver is on the back of the glass and the glass absorbs some light as heat as it passes through. Mylar is not as smooth so you sure as hell don't want to shave in it, but since the light is reflected on the surface, more light is returned. About 10% more. It's not gonna make or break your grow, of course, but if I had access to both I'd use the mylar.

ok i am back today. i thought i would inform you guys on how things are goin. today i put my lighting down to 14/10 getting ready to flower. I also took out 2 23w 6500k cfls and put in 3 23w 2700k cfls and i am going to keep all the floro tubes that i have in there there. I will be switching to 12/12 within the week. it has been vegging for 6 weeks exactly. if anyone has any objections to this please let me know. I am very open to any suggestion just done want to veg for another month because if i do that i will run out of space in my cab, and since this was built on a well under 50 dollar budget you can assume i dont have money to do much more. my space limitations on the plant are 21 inhes tall after my lights are raised all the way.My plants are about 6 inches in height and havent changed much since the last update. my clones havent rooted yet either hope fully soon though thes are pics from earlier if you dont want to look for them but there are way more on previous posts

yo im following it, keep posting cus i wanna see what your plant ends up like. im about to grow in a cabinet pretty much the same size as urs. ur plant is looking nice tight nodes = fat nugs. generally my plants double in size (maybe a little more) when i switch to flower so use that to gage how long u wanna veg for. about the mirror, i wanna say its not a good idea cus id think mirrors intensify the light and maybe could burn ur plant? but if its not doing any of that the way u have it then its all good. what kind of lights are u gonna flower with?

also, how are you running your pc fans. ive read some tutorials but i get confused, could i hook up old cell phone chargers to pc fans and run em that way?

yeah yeah you can use cell phone chargers, just remember the more volts the faster it'll spin, but dont go past 12 -14 volts, becuase it will fry the fans motor sooner

i use a switchable voltage ac adapter,(19.99 at radioshak) and run them between 6 and 9 volts for almost silent running fans.

and hey MIKO, dont get discouraged, i feel the same way sometimes , but you gotta make the journal for yourself, and im subscribed LOL, i like whatching these grows, cause god knows i'll never have a 3000w HPS setup. lol:joint:
keep it green!!

+rep if i can

no one wants to read a 25 pg thread anyway, its nicer when its concise with a bunch of pics

yes you can but most cellphone chargers dont get the fans to their max output so if you need more power just compare the volts the dc adapter you are using and use the higher voltage for higher fan speeds. i use 12v for my exhaust and everything else is run on phone chargers

I am flowering under 2 3ft 21w t5w a2 ft 13w t5 not sure of their spectrum but they red so i am assuming they are red spectrum. im also using 5 23w 2700k cfls and 1 23w 6500k cfl just to have bothspectrums and i have a 2 ft t12 aquarium light at13w i think so that comes to 206 wats of florecent lighting. ill take some pics for you all tonight since it actually looks like it has done something but i need to wait for my planty to finish drinking. i have just been watering it in my runoff tray to get the roots to look for it. dont know if that makes sence but it dose to me so if you have a question ask or and feedback give it to me but i think im sitting pretty good right now besides the fact that im using cfls! as long as peeps stick around ill keep posting, i just dont see the point in writing a journal for others to read if they dont give their 2 cents. Mabey im doing ok without help i dont know lol oh well cyall around
