first grow.will it work?

thx for help +rep .im gonna ride it out a little longer i plan to tranplant in a week or so anyway they seem to be lookin better no other leaves a burning and they are still growing. i cut of the leaves that were burning up.was that a good idea?when i do tranplant to bigger pots do yall think they will be strong enough to handle mg.i was tryna use the mg soil for nutes until flower.what soil do u recommend.

Ok, here are your options for soil and light. I just read all three pages to ensure nobody had said these things already.

#1. What you actually need is real gardening soil. There are shit brands of everything. Huffy bikes, terrible TV dinners, no name electronics, etc. MG is the shit brand of growers soil, you're working with the worst thing you can use. Soil dug out of a yard does better for people than MG. If your local gardening store has fox farms soil, i'd highly recommend their ocean forest blend. Otherwise goto any garden place and buy some pro-mix. With pro-mix you'll need nutes right away because the soil is neutral. Bad soil = weaker, less quantity, worse tasting weed. No way around it.

#2. Lighting. This is how much light you will need based on the size of your garden sir. You need MINIMUM 2,500-3,000 lumens per square foot. If your garden is 10 square feet you need 25,000-30,000 lumens of light from your CFLs. 2,500 is the bare minimum for healthy growth. I stress bare minimum. 4,000-6,000 LPSF is healthy. The sun does about 10-17k depending on your geographic location and the atmospheric light diffusion. To get this number take the length of your garden and multiply it by the width. Thats the square footage. Add up the combined lumens of your CFLs and divide by square footage. From the pictures I saw you have a good idea going already on how to set up the lights.

very good post thx.+rep im gonna get fox farms when i transplant and i already have more lights on stand by.do u have any recs for nutes not brandsbut what type im totaly cluless. thats why i went with the mg it seemed like the easy way out.

A simple, effective, and great nute system for new growers is the fox farms trio. It comes with a instruction sheet for nute schedules which works great for MJ. the one caution I'd have is watch the full doses of ANY nute with recommended amounts because fertilizer companies like to "prescribe" too much nutes by about 25% to move more product. Start at a 1/4 strength and move up until your plants consistently look great. (fyi fox farms ocean forest will feed no problem for at least three weeks. Its very rich)

yeah bro looks ok so far dont worry everyone has problems when growing dont stress. As for the MG i dident like it on my babys i think i might have killed a few i use roots organic and sense i have my baby loves it ur problem could be due to overwatering and the soil letting nutes out.

im a mg grower for right now and my sweety is doing fine im in the first week on day 5 and she's standing like a champ. i water 1 every second day on a 24/0 schand she's doing just great.

i will never use mg again. the first 8 or 9 days my plants where fine but then slowly they started to burn up. now out of 10 plants i have 4. they are doin good now i got them in pro mix with bat shit. will this be enough to get me through veg? i know that i did the most damage by watering to much . even tho i was warned several times. but i think the jiffy pots i had them in was dryin the soil out fast because they always seemed really dry. i will post pics of my 4 tomm. 2 of them i think a doin good considering all the tourture they been through.

as far as lights go...it all depends on your area..if you are growing 1 or 2 plants with those lights you should be ok. 1 Plant def....You should check out lowes or walmart im using 3 60 watt 1600 lumens for my 1 pc case seems to be doing the job...as for the miracle grow soil ...it works fine for me thats what im using right now in my pc grow case...im using the organic kind...as for the nut burn this is true if you add a ton of additional nutrients...i made the mistake of adding some miracle grow fertilizer to my plant (too much) and it burn it up within a days time...im not sure if it was because I accidently got some on the plant itself or what...however just be careful...miracle grow soil is fine..ive seen several very nice plants come from it. However, like grizzly said foxfarm is the shit and if you can get your hands on that at a local store you are very lucky


p.s. - but some fencing up on your plants so your cat doesnt get them lol jk

im not using any nutes now i put a pinch of bat guana in the pro mix bag a mix it in.i finaly found were to buy fox farm and a i bought a big bag. i have space to and more soil in my pots. can piut the fox farms on top or should i wait till i put them in bigger pots.they only been in these pots for 6 days when should i transplant.

o i looked at the bag of fox farms and i see that it already has bat guana in it.can i still add more. my local store only sell the big ass bottles of fox farm nutes. i was gonna wait till flower and buy the bloom stuff. grizzlyadams is the man

yes im gonna get some red spectrum cfls. i have more blue spec for veg im about to put them up now. i will post pics later
