hey guys as you guessed, this is my first grow. Since i can't start my own grow journal yet, ill be using this thread as my journal. I'm going to try to take a picture every 2 days to get good data. Anyway here are the facts:

-I bought 5 feminized blueberry seeds + 2 free Somango seeds.
-I put them in a folded up piece of paper towel and made sure to soak the sheet once a day to keep it wet.
-After about a week 5 of the 7 seeds had nice ~1 inch long white root, so i left the 2 that hadn't sprouted in the wet towel (threw them away later on as nothing happened).
-The 5 that grew about an inch of root were put into 3" deep 2" wide cones to start growing. I think i fucked up this part cause I lost another 2 from this step (they never popped out of the soil).

-after a week I could see that the blueberry was growing much quicker than the other two...and this is still happening and i dont know why.. anyone ?
-(pic #1, taken the 22nd of April, Day 14) they were on 24h light at that time and switched to 18/6 after that day. sorry for shitty quality.

-a few days after that it seemed like the other 2 werent growing anymore so i took em out, replanted them, put in more soil to the top and packed it in a little up to their leaves. I also though that the light might have been too close (it was like an inch away) so i moved it away.
- Also using only one 20W "100w equivalent" clf right now cause i figured they didnt need that much light since only a few small leaves are out.
- pic #2, 26th of April, Day 18, you see i topped it up with soil

- Pic #3, 28th of April, Day 20, again you see the blueberry is doing much better than the others.
-Also you can see top left is turning yellow.. what does this mean?
- the bottom left has no noticeable color difference(just has a bit of dirt on it and its shell)but its not growing !

I feel like these guys are taking forever to grow... I first started germinating the seeds on the 8th so its been 20 days since then for this last picture above.

Alright so this is my first grow so please give me any tips and pointers and tell me why the top left is going yellow ??? thanks haha hoping to learn a lot.

I literally just took this one, it looks as if the bottom one is starting to grow a little leaf so im less concerned about that one since it hadntgrown for a few days. As for the one on top.. still nothing ad getting more and more light yellow.. idk what to do..my baby is dying !!!
The Blueberry on the right is looking the best so far, but please tell me if you can see anything wrong with it cause yo might be able to catch something, personally it looks a little light.
Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

Get yourself some more CFL's and get them close to the plants. I use flood light CFL lights and I think they are better to actually aim the light down so that it isn't wasted going in every which direction. The better lights you have the better growth you'll see.

It looks like you have the one planted pretty close to the soil there, like there is no stem showing at all....it's probably why you have the yellowing. What kind of soil are you using? That little one should make it, marijuana is a very resilient plant just try to leave it alone for a week or so

I have about 5 cfls right now, but i figured it wouldnt be much use to use so many while there a so few small leafs able to take in the light. and right now they are about 4 inches from the light.
Should i get it closer ? should i put in more lights already ?
thanks

Day 28, (6 days later). So looks like the one ont he top left has just continued on dying..
Bottom one looks much less healthy, might follow the deadly path of the first child..
and the one to the right looks about the same.
You can see on the second picture the strongest plant has only grown a tiny bit.. i really think there is somekinda problem with the grow, its growing way too slow.
Ive moved the lights closer/farther, added more soil, watered more/less. nothing seems to change, no pests that i can see.
So i think it could be that the soil doesn't have any nutrients. The soil is thos Osmocote seedling soil, so itmight have very little nutrients as to not hurt the seedlings..
Anyway, to test this theory ive bought some all purpose plant feed that has some N/K/P/mag/Cu/Fe, and watered em with it just before takign this picture, then i turned on 2 100watt equivalent cfl's to blast em.. lets see what happens over the next few days..

Okay i was previously just using a single light (the one on the left on the picture), at around 2-4 inches from the plants. Ive just put a second one in there (the one to the right).
ive only just feed them this once from this all purpose feed, the ingredient list is in the pics. also the soil I used is in the pic... which says that it has nutes for 3 months.. so i kinda regret putting nutes in there now.. so we'll see..
also, how many lights do i need at this stage ? i thought that they wouldnt need that much since they are so small.. but youre telling me otherwise, so how many of these 20W CFLs do i need at this point ?

Edit: also, i have em on a 18/6. So i was thinking should I increase the light period since my lights arent that great right now ?

Put all four of your bulbs in there. Your plant is the size of a ten day old seedling imho. Gotta get proper light then get nutes figured out. If I was you I would do alot more research so your outcone gets better next time

It looks like you have 2700-3000k warm white lights maybe you need to find a 5000k bulb?

Everything looks very water logged to me and the dirt looks packed almost.

I would stop watering it and don't fertilize it any more and get a 5000k spectrum or better bulb in there.

I think you can save that last one it looks like it's growing well enough.

Those other two got shocked when you transplanted them so young I think.

I agree, they are really small, thts why I thought nutes might be the problem, but i was probly wrong..

Also are those even growing bulbs?
They are CFLs

I had just watered it, thats probly why

thanks guys

I had similar issues to you, what I've learned is that my soil choice was poor, causing slow growth then compensating by overwatering and nutes - thinking thats gonna help her grow faster but all you are doing is making it worse... read the guide, continue to learn

Thanks
I've read through some of this post, its just so big, i cant remember everything, and many problems can seem to be explained by like 3 different things.. I think ill just need more experience to know what to do.

I dont think im overwatering, that was my first mistake though. It just seems like it because i've been taking pictures right after watering. I usually water every day or every other day early in the light cycle and never late in the cycle.
I partly agree, next time im going siol shopping im getting the best i can get my hands on.
But i think that the problem was the amount of light. Now that i have 2 lights on (still trying to find time to buy fittings for more) the little girl appears to have grown a bit.
Ill post an updated pic in a day or two.

What is the PH of the water? That can play a role in whether the plants can use the nutrients in the dirt.

You want it around 6.5 ph.

Here is a picture with some info about nutrients and what's best.

Yes i also thought it might have to do with the water Ph I'm waiting on litmus paper that i ordered on ebay.. so i wont know until then. thanks for the pic, ive seen something similar before but this is def clearer. :)

4 Days later, Day 32 since i put that damn seed in a fuckin wet towel.
So anyway I think the problem was the lights since she's grown noticeably more in these past 4 days than in the last fucking MONTH !
I have 2 warm white 20w CFLs on her and I still need to get some white/daylight colored lights in there. Ive been on a 20/4 schedule btw.
