Yes I've done out doors for about 2 years. I'm gonna do a small soil grow until I can get another light. My shed is a 8x 10 (metal) and as of now I only have my light extc. Seeds n my ac unit. I'm sure I need a lot more just need a little guidance. I was told about a goose neck I just don't want it to look to obvious from the sky

okay cool looks like youve got a kool little garden space, an ac unit, some chains and a 400watt withan HPS bulb okay so ideally for veg youd want metal halide but its not the end of the world if you want to use HPS all the way through and is actually preferred by most growers to MH all the way throughso hang your light up and pu the A/C unit away until you need it.

1.pots:4-6, 3 gallon pots or 2-4, 5 gallon pots would be ideal for a 400w
2.soil:fox farms, roots organic, youll want to stick to a light and heavily amended soil such as the first 2 i mentioned for optimal root growth and to feed seedlings early on just stay away from miracle grow or anything marketing "slow release" as the extra nutes will leave a harsh burn to your buds.
3. nutes/ water: are you going organic or not? organic youll need to do a lot of research under the organics section but for starters youll need mycchorhizal fungus, an RO filter, vermicompost and a 5 gallon tea bubbler setup oh and sugar or molasses for feeding microlife if not then you can decide what nutes youd like to buy based on your needs I always recommend maxibloom and google "kiss method" for newbs and pros alike.

that should be good to get you going, lemme know if you have any more questions :)

How will you deal with the funk of beautiful flowering marijuana plants? Figure this out now and save a lot of headache. Trust me. Its not the type of problem that you can wait until its a problem before you solve it. You gotta never have the problem. If you understand what I mean. Good luck. What strain are your seeds?

I would research specifically people using sheds for growrooms: their setup, problems they encounter etc. THere are so many factors here : budget, environment, accessibility, diy, the list goes on n on. Theres no way any of us would be able to cover and answer all those questions.

if u want to stay hidden it is going to cost yah

i need to get some IR blocker and line the inner walls

as for venting u are well little limited do to the shed
u will need a to make a 2 holes in the shed one for exhaust high up and one for intake low down

What is the climate like? What are the high and low temps that you will be experiencing and the outdoor humidity level? What are the dimensions?

I don't see how IR blocking could help, they would still see the hot air from the vent with few probable explanations coming out of a shed. I'm glad they need a warrant to scan your property with IR. Funny thing is outdoor ops are also easy to detect from air, except instead of IR they use UV, weed reflects UV like no other plant. With a UV imaging camera you could find tons of outdoor weed easily.

u wanted to stay hidden

the ir blocker will make the shed/ look normal if any thermal scans over your way ........look just like the outside temp so the lights or anything else inside will not be seen

your trouble is the exhust air being hot or cold so that will be a image they can see ........if it is going to run hot u might think of placing a grill near the shed then hide the venting so it comes up in the grill so if that looks hot no biggie u like to cook outside alot

All that ir blocker is is poly plastic, I believe insulation boards with a cooled gap between is the only way! Along with that poly plastic.

Also, dont pay for ir blocker. Use polypropylene plastic. Same stuff. I see people by mylar lol. I use solar blankets! There 90% cheaper! And guess what, same stuff!

Lastly. If your ANYWHERE in the top half of the 48. Consider venting that hot air into the ground!

Most solar/mylar blankets are pretty thin, if you can see through it when held up in a bright room, it's not worth using, only 60% reflective, with that said, I'm using one right now on my stupid rack with 2 autos, a big mom, and 2 baby moms. It's cool to be able to see through and I just put a little more light above it to compensate. Not a good idea for a real full size high power setup. You need the thicker version that actually can reflect/block 100%.

And this is where my goose necks will come into play correct?

I would be amazed if walmart didn't have it by camping stuff or automotive stuff. Ebay, amazon or a sporting goods store. Please note that most or all of the space/solar/mylar blankets are much thinner than the mylar normally used. It only reflects about 60% of the light. A space blanket vs mylar is like sunglasses vs a mirror. Very cool if you want to watch through the space blanket, but very uncool for lining a wall for purposes of being reflective.

Reflectivity:
Space blanket = 60%
Real/Thicker Mylar = >95%
