First Med Coco Grow - finished

ya seems tedious but ive heard great things bout in the books and RUI and the guys at my hydro store so im curious to see

I hear ya on all the research..it is a science and there is so much to learn.
As far as my plan..I bent the tops (not enough to break them, but alittle over 90 deg) and will let the side shoots catch up. As soon as they come through the net, I will clean up the bottom..I plan on trimming everything under the net or lolipoping. I want to try and widen the canopy as much as possible too by speading the plants as they come through the net.
 
sounds good to me. so far ive seen and read thats the exact concept to focus on a wide canopy with multipul tops and main colas without light restrictions by fan leafs. most just tuck em under. did u FIM the tops or LST them in young veg to train for multipul tops or u just lettin it grow as is?

here's a little mini scrog I was doing before I decided to take these out and mother them. the heavy indicas are the ones in the back and those took a little longer and had to be more gentle to get going through the screen, and the sativas wind through no problem

Today I watered and fed the plants. This time I waited a little longer to water..three days and they were pretty dry..I fed with the A/B, drip clean, and root excel. I also took a few more fans off and re-bent the top stem again.
I emptied my reservior and washed it out. Since I have been watering about 30 gal at a time, I have been leaving 20 gals in the res before it re-fills..I figured I would empty it all the way and clean it out. this also let me start over on nutes so instead of adding to the existing.

I finished the cloner and picked up a floro..I will probably cut the clones off in the next few days.. I also am sprouting 25 seeds from bag seed..

Here are a couple pics of the cloner. I might get another lid and re-cut the holes because the neopreme discs aren't real tight..so I might cut a 1/8th smaller hole so they fit a little tighter...not sure yet. :roll:

Lookin awesome man. If I was in your shoes right now I would keep letting those bitches veg. I would keep tucking all the branches back under the net, every time they pop up through a hole, tuck them back down. Once that entire screen is filled up nit and full, flip that switch and hang on!!

This is gonna be a fun one to watch!

bterz..thanks for checkin in man.. I agree with you..I want to wait until they are all fighting to get through that screen and I have a sea of bud sites accross the screen.. I will wait (impatiently) for them to fill out :blsmoke:
I haven't decide if I am going to run a 20/4 week or just go straight to 12/12...any thoughts?
 
I would do 24/0 for a week and a half and weave them in with your net real good, then switch to 12/12 and watch them reach for the sky
 
I wouldnt change a thing. Keep them on there current light schedule and flip to 12/12 when they're ready.

Really, so they will shoot up on 12/12 huh? So how long can you bend and manipulate them into flower without effecting them?

Also, how do you answer multiple quotes in one message? Anyone know?
 
the plants still grow another 1-2 feet during flowering phase and ull continue to weave the branches im assumin is wat they met. also a trick ive heard u mite want to do is when u flip the photoperiod; leave the lights off for at least 36hours before u turn on 12/12 this helps the plant recognize photoperiod change faster.
 
I disagree Boomer, no offence.

I think the plants pictured are VERY bushy, very stocky, and I dont think they will stretch much.. Keep weaving those branches under before you make the flip, that way the BOTTOM of the screen is filled, before you allow anything to stick out at the top.

When the screen is full (underneath) let them veg a day or two and fill up the screen on the TOP. I say veg 4-5 inches above the top of the screen when its full, and then making the flip. That net is there to space them correctly and help hold them up. If the colas end up 2 feet above the net, so be it...

The reason I say veg until everything is above the net a good distance is because you're going to be trimming everything below the net (or should be, except fan leaves, just lower branches) anyways. You dont want any buds under that net, everything above them!

I would NOT give them 36 hours of darkness, as I've heard some pretty bad horror stories about people getting MASSIVE stretch using this technique. Stick to what is most well-known and used. None of this "theory" stuff.

Once again everyone is entitled to there own opinion, just giving you some things to think about.
 
using that scrog, all you really want to do is fill every available lighted inch to maximize harvest........ 24/0 for about a week, and weaving it during will work great..... I would not continue weaving into flower after that, they should fill out that space nicely in a week..... your gunna have some fat nugs lollipopping the scrogged tops ;)..... hold a solid canopy ;)
 
no worries bterz i havent used any of those methods im just repeating wat ive read in books and from other growers on RUI. indoor is obviously alot diff then outdoor which was when i saw the growth during flower still but ive still seen and heard flower stage can add growth not just bud. but under a scrgo setup up the idea is to limit the plants heighth and widen out the canopy so im sure it wont really grow much more. but well have to see how it goes cuz im curious to see this method. the 36hour method ive just been told by others but have no science to bak it up. so raiderfan do wat u feel safe with. id stick with like wta bterz was saying just stick with wats known and safe for now and experiment later when u get it dialed in.
