First mushroom grow harvest time!

im gonnna order 2 of these kits and check them out you seem to have atleast minimal success with them :D
 
If you have never done mushrooms before I would say you should take it slow.
Maybe eat 2 grams, then wait until the effects are in full effect, if you want more, eat another 2 grams.
 
A kit is a waste after you see how easy it is to get all the thing locally, except spores. These are B+ strain with rye berries spawned to coco coir, verm, peat, and turkey litter. I start them in Invitro grow bags and after their first flush they are dunked and set in the mini greenhouse for their 2nd and 3rd flushes. I normally pull 2 to 3oz's per bag dried after a few flushes. Bags are almost set em' and forget em'.

we are more or less wondering the effective ness of such kits,,,

as we can see he had a beautiful time with it

getting a pre colonized box to first flush in 2 weeks is amazing though


and for the price its not so bad
 
I started with kits originally, did ok. They are great for someones first run, but just like MJ we want MORE! :)
 
Next time I will try with spores but for now it's a good kit and only 25$ it's not that bad. Btw after the shrooms dry do I save them in a air tight bag and put it in a dark place? And for how long they will be good?
 
Yes, dry them completely - cracker dry. Put them in an air tight, light tight container and try not to expose them to too high a heat. I have tried mushrooms that I put aside that way that were 6 years old - they worked just fine.
 
tnx for the answer canndo. I got another question what is the best way to dry shrooms? I put them on a blotting paper and fan on them is that ok?
 
The best way is to put them on a fan and then finish them off with desicant. There is no real harm in putting them on a fan for a few days and then finishing them off in the oven at 120 or thereabouts for an hour or two. you DO want them to be absolutly dry.
 
Yeah the fan would work just fine, but if you put them inside of a mason jar, some moisture would come back into the mushrooms.
You need to completely dry them with desiccant before any type of storage like that. I would also put a pack of desiccant in the air tight jar with them to keep them dry.
 
IMHO, spores to birdseed to pasteurized used coffee grounds and coir is the most cost effective way by far.
Just spawn the colonized birdseed to the coir/coffee substrate at a ratio of about 1-10, and fill the bottom 3-4 inches of a rubbermaid container with them. Drill a few holes in the top for light, and a few small (1/8 ") holes on the sides about 2 inches above the top of the substrate. With that and opening up and fanning once a day, you will have all the air exchange you need. Misting is not required if H20 content is correct at the time of spawning.

I think it is a waste of time and money to use desicant for the whole process when the things are 92 percent water to begin with. As I said, a fan works, hell leaving them out on a rack for a few days works - and I never really had a problem with putting them in the oven on warm.
 
canndo i think you misunderstand me i meant after a primary fan dry would these dessicants be good enough to finish the job up you know?
