I'll help where I can. Good luck, do as much reading as you can, and start slow. Everyone wants to rush into growing 100's of plants, 50 different strains, and using the most advanced, highest yielding process. Don't. Learn how to grow ONE plant your first time through, then get better at it.

Quick update, I have pushed the feeding program to 100% of the manufacturers suggested to see if this fixes the nutrient deficiency I seem to be having on the batch is is getting food. 75% wasn't quite doing it, and they seem OK so far, maybe the organic nutes aren't as hot as the two-part. Other than that, very little has happened as I'm sure they are still trying to establish roots. Clones are at a disadvantage because of the lack of roots but the abundance of leaves. This should correct itself as the roots establish. This is the second week of veg so after this week I'm just hitting them with base nutrients and vitamins.

Here is the new menu:
4 ml/L Iguana Juice Grow from AN
2 ml/L Hygrozyme (I actually feed Hygrozyme during my water only day)
2 ml/L Organic B from AN
2 ml/L CalMag from Botanicare
2 ml/L Fulvic Acid (FlavorFul from Humboldt)
2 ml/L H-2 from AN
2 ml/L VooDoo Juice
1 ml/L CarboLoad
1/8 tsp/L Piranha
1/8 tsp/L Tarantula

I am getting a little concerned that the Root 707 soil may be depleted. I was hoping to have until the end of this week to transplant to their final homes (7 gallon containers with super soil) but after looking at Q.T. #1 - #5 it looks like the soil may be depleted. I am seeing signs of nutrient deficiencies and will be monitoring very closely. I upped the dosage of CalMag+ and HygroZyme to their suggested amounts (I normally never run 100%) to see if this stops it and gives me the time I need to get to the next phase without introducing nutrients. I really want to see if this is possible with no nutrients in soil. I may be using 1 gallon containers instead of 1/2 gallon containers for the next time around....

Having said that, I won't sacrifice the plant so if need be, I'll hit it with some base nutrients until I can transfer. Unless I get my area up and running tonight, in which case they'll be in their new homes sooner rather than later.

So here are the Qrazy Train seedlings 1 week after being topped. It looks like all 10 as well as JesusWeed took to the topping very well. They are also sitting under 1000W MH lighting now which seems to be changing their structure and color. As soon as I determine their sexes, I will be planting them in their super soil containers and they should take off again. So far so good.

New Food for Q.T. #6 - #10
I am modifying the feeding program for these 5 plants as follows:

4 mL/L Iguana Juice Grow
2 mL/L CalMag+
2 mL/L HygroZyme
2 mL/L Organic B-1
2 mL/L Humic Acid
2 mL/L Fulvic Acid

Just water for the others
For Q.T. #1 - #5, I am continuing the "water only" regiment now that I fixed the deficiency issue.

2 mL/L CalMag+
2 mL/L HygroZyme

It will come down to the root development I see when I transplant the seedlings into their final containers, but so far I'm not seeing a huge difference in the plants, so I have to say if I get the same results without using all the AN stuff, it may not be worth it. We'll see.

JesusWeed and the AirPot

I was very disappointed in the 1/2 gallon air pot. It is just too small and weird to hold water right. My JW would dry up way before the others and needed constant attention, even one day without water and it would collapse. You can tell from the pictures it is weaker than the others. When I transplanted it I saw VERY little root development, and the plant was very weak. The dirt ball was collapsing as I was transplanting it. It is now in a 3 gallon container with new soil, so this plant will be in rehab for a while.

My other 3 gallon air pots with my two mother plants in them seem to be doing OK. Maybe it was a matter of size (isn't it always?) but as for the 1/2 gallon air pots...
:finger:

Oh and here are the cutting that I'm using to determine sex. No roots showing yet, but still alive and kicking and JUST starting to show pre-flowers, hopefully in the next day or so should see final signs of development.

The flags are just plant number indicators. Yes, I do happen to have little Mexican flags laying around on tooth picks. This is California after all... :dunce:

QUICK UPDATE

So far, 2/10 males, and 4/10 females. All plants, including the H20 only ones are doing good, but I think I waited to long to transplant them to their final containers. I was hoping to sex them all before i did so, but seeds don't show sex that young, so I figured I would just recycle the dirt if I see males in the first two weeks of flower.

JesusWeed rises again
After transplanting into a 3 gallon container with fresh Roots 707, JW has risen again! The plant not only came back, it caught up with it's QrazyTrain roommates. It also has been transplanted to the 7 gallons and the roots looked great.

Pics tonight!

Hey, thanks farmer. No breeding this round, but stay tuned. My next grow journal will be about converting an elite cut back to seed, and eventually crossing it with other stable strains like Trainwreck and Diesel to create my own strain. This cut is from a very old strain that I can't find ANY information on, so as far as I'm concerned it's fair game...

In that thread I will be covering colloidal silver, feminized seeds, and begin the process of documenting my new strain, code named DP.... stay tuned.

Hey max that sounds good man, i'll definitely be sticking around.

Finally got around to transplanting all the ladies into their final containers. They are now sitting in 7 gallon containers that are loaded with Super Soil in the bottom 50% of the pot. Actually did it two days ago and they don't look to have suffered a bit. They are standing up nicely and should hit the super soil iin a few days, so I expect to see a boost of growth hopefully by the weekend.

The plants are standing from 6" - 10" tall, with the shortest ones being the H20 only. I have also found what I think are four different phenotypes. There seems to be red stem and pointy leaves, green stem and pointy leaves, red stem and fat leaves, and green stem and fat leaves. I have at least one of each, with more of the red stem with thin leaves and green stem with thin leaves. Two of the plants are very bushy, this may be an expression of the genetics as well.

I also think that I waited too long to transplant. Like I said, I was trying to wait out the top clones but I think they suffered a little because of this delay, but ti doesn't seem to have really mattered as they're growing good now.

The plants on the left and middle rear are the H2O only plants, while the center, bottom middle and right hand side plants are the ones getting Advanced Nutrients full organic line.

Here are the H2O only plants.

I have to say while they all look healthy, they are smaller than their sisters who have been receiving food and vitamins. I guess that only makes sense, and really it's the end result that matters, but considering there is a 4" difference between the two sets of plants, I would say that adding in vitamins and a little organic food will knock off about a week or so from your veg time.

As far as rooting areas, I didn't take any pictures, but I didn't see a MAJOR difference between the two. Considering the cost of Piranha, Tarantula, and VooDoo, I can't say that I say a huge difference. Maybe in coco coir it would make a major difference since there are no microbes in the soil as opposed to Root 707 which does have a lot of things in the soil already, but I can't say there was as big of a difference between the two.

In my next closet T-5 grow I'll be using Roots Coco Coir and I'll try the VooDoo, Tarantula, and Piranha mix again since I already have it and don't want it to go to waste, so again, one more time....

Nice cross section here:
Q.T. #1 - Red stem, thin leaves
Q.T. #2 - Green stem, fat leaves
Q.T. #3 - Green stem, thin leaves
Q.T. #4 - RIP (second male found)
Q.T. #5 - Red stem, thin leaves (This one is 10" tall like the rest. For some reason, this one is a FAST grower, probably male...:-(

For those following, JesusWeed has made a complete recovery. Not only that, it has caught up with it's room mates. It actually even sprouted a fifth head that I may clone out just to taste it earlier!
