First time BubblePonics, Advice appreciated

Well figured i go ahead and start a new thread over hear since i just built me one of these setups :eyesmoke:

i have a 25 gallon Rubbermaid container, with six 6" pots in them, from the hydro store also have the hydro rock, have two 12" air stones and dual air pump, Have my ph tester and my ph down to adjust, using eco grow and plan on switching to flora products. But right now my ph is between 5.5 and 6., and air temperature is between 78 and 85 with 50-60% humidity, and i currently am using 1/4 strength nuets. Also there under a 400w MH, and have pretty decent airflow

But I had recently started some plants in dirt and just yesterday switched them over to this setup and 24 hours later im already seeing signs of new root growth. But if anyone has any ideas or tips, or see something i might have forgot always love advice, and always +rep :joint:

Not sure I understand if you have all six the dirt established plants or those and some new seedlings together in the same system? Do you have roots in the water? Are the rockwool cubes (if indeed you are using rockwool cubes) staying good and damp?

I use a 21 gallon =/ Home depot was out of the small ones

To both of you..That's a lot of extra nutes, etc for 6 plants, not to mention the extra work involved to maintain it. Lots of extra work!!! The 6 gallons that go into the SH unit is enough to grow 5-5 plants between 4-5 ft tall.

Hmm yea dint know that, just had that one laying around so i figured id use it. But its also clear (i know big no no) but its all i had :hump:

, but, i made sure that no light was getting to the water, but knowing i dont need one that big i will problly switch to a diff tub next res change, since it sucks fillin that big thing up

Also yea there all fairliy established dirt plants, they had been in the dirt for almost 3 weeks and really dint do much besides sprout :evil:

, So i switched them over to this system (will try and get pics asap)

Also i dint build that little thing that goes in the tank that runs a drip lines to the bottom of the buckets, instead since the roots were aready long enof they were sitting on the bottom of the bucket wich is in the water about an inch, Questing is : is this ok? do i need to have to buckets more sumerged or less? Was that drip line thing a necesity?

But yea i look forward to seeing how this goes, Especially seeing what other people are doing with this setup

That "drip line thing" was never necessary from the beginning, just a sales gimmick.

yea, well figured id do a lil update, so its been about 6 days since the transplant to the bubbuler, and i can say things are going good so far ( there still alive, lol) but yea the most recent problem iv had seems to be a nitrogen diff, but only has effected 3 of them, and one out of those 3 is almost completly yellow, But for the other 3 they show no yellowing, and now actually showing growth(well one of them anyhow)

But as for my question: Im guessing its normall for some yellowing after a transplant shock as the one i did? or do i have other issues? ph has been held between 5.5 and 6 for the last 3 days or so now, staying steady

COMPLETE LIE.Its an auto feeder for the plants so dont have to HOPE you got enough bubbles getting to the RW.I know mine are getting the proper amount.100% positive..YOU cant say that unless you check...go check em..

Well figured i do a lil update, Theyv now been in the bubbuler for a week so today they got the first water change. Also why i was at it i went ahead and built a better tote, its actually bigger than the other one as its a 30 gallon but is more tall than wider. But i feel i made this one verry well and should do me good for the grow

And as with the plants 3 of them are now officially off and goin, even one of the yellow ones took off this morning, the other 2 are droopy but u can see new root growth so just a mater of time till they take off too, but hears some more pics :leaf:

The water level should be about 2 inches below the pots. Also, the feeding lines really make a huge difference. I just started my grow about a week ago and I'm really impress with the impact that constant feeding made. Come check it out the link is in my sig.

yea so should it be 2 inches below even if i dont have feeding lines? i mean there isnt roots hanging out yet so i figured id lower the level the further the roots grow down, as i figured the rocks need to stay moist to get to the roots, But is that bad? should i have it lower so the roots have to grow down to the water?

I took my feed line out and i noticed a drastic change. I learned an easy lesson because my plants didnt die! i put my lines back in, and holy crap my plants started new growth everywhere!

so what ur saying is that i need to build that feeding line setup, ok that can be done, but for now and like the week it may take to have the funds to build it, where should my water level be? like i said no feed lines so i have the water level half inch up the pot. is that ok? figured once the roots started actually growing downward i can lower the water level

Yeah that's fine if you don't have feeder tubes. Just lower it as the roots grow like you said. You'll be fine just keep us posted. Good luck!
