First Time Grower! CFL Grow!

Hi everyone this is my first post on the site as I am a new member!!! I have been thoroughly searching forums for useful information and I have found a lot and just wanted to say thanks!!! I have just recently started my first grow on 2/7/14. I started with 5 clones I purchased at a local reputable dispensary, they were all suppose to be Pineapple Express but after about a week I realized that one was different :( I didn't really bother complaining to them about it because I got a great deal and I just figured what the hell. I believe the 5th clone is ace of spades due to the fact that is the only plant that relatively looks like what they sell clone wise but any input from anybody would be helpful. I guess I will start with my grow setup which is pretty bare minimum.

Laundry room converted to grow room
5 3.8 gallon pots
16 20watt cfl's
1 fan circulating air.
1 temp gauge that displays humidity as well
soil used was purchased from lowes and contained very few nutrients but contained perlite
Nutrients were also purchased from lowes 30/10/10 for vegging and will be purchasing nutes for flowering soon

Thats pretty much all but I'm gonna try to keep this thread updated every other day with new pictures and I would like to welcome and also encourage comments questions or concerns.

Also I tried to post pictures in order which actually worked out pretty well. Bottom picks were took on 3/4/14 which would make my girls almost 4 weeks into vegg.

Welcome Mrclean,
Looks like your off to a good start. About your Pineapple, it's very possible that they are all pineapple. Usually strains will have different phenotypes, which is why it may look different. Good luck on your grow, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks for that info as well cereal box. I have a grow of 5 candy cane autos growing right now and 4 of the plants have narrow finger sativa looking leaves and 1 of them has real wide indica looking leaves. Even the color on the plant is lighter than the other 4 and its growth is about 1/3 the rate faster! Just thought a seed got mixed up in shipping. Never bothered me to much so I never asked about it but you answered my question with the different phenotype response. Thank you!

No problem, always glad to help out a fellow member! The sativa looking ones will be a treat for sure. My first sativa hybrid was probably the best stuff I ever smoked.

Sorry it has been a few days since the last update. I really have been trying to take care of a pest issue that arose in my plants luckily it was only the beneficial soil mites. :) I also added 4 more plants to my garden about 4 days ago. They are all autoflower strains that I ordered off of attitude seeds which by the way was a very smooth transaction!
Blue Diesel
White Widow
Skunk #47
Roadrunner

I believe my girls are now about 31 days into Veg! I'm really debating on whether or not I should put them in flower because they are getting so big I would say around 13-14 inches in height.

If you plan on flowering with cfls, I'd lst the top of each plant, and flower after a week or so. Just one way to keep their tops lower. Lookin good!

Thanks I was just worried a bit about LST seeing how the plants are already so tall but did some research and your right should be good to go! Now the only other concern I have is that my autoflower strains need as much light as possible and they have to be in the same room so I'm concerned about putting them on 12/12 as I know it will decrease yield dramatically! :(

Just take the very top of the plant and somehow get it below 90 degree angle. Then the lower side branches will shoot up. Here's some pics of how I did mine. This was my first grow and it's a lot easier once you see how the plant reacts. It just seems a lot more daunting then it really is.

Lookin pretty good man, but you can move those lights a lot closer as long as they aren't getting too hot. Perhaps even move a couple of them around to help the lower branches too.

Another update!!!!!
So I started flowering on 3/15/14. I decided to leave my autos in the same room as I didn't have much of a choice other then bring them over to a buddies garden which I didn't really want to do. I guess we will have some insight on growing autos under 12/12 all the way. My skunk 47 landed up dying on me because I had to leave for a few days also not allowing me to LST my main plants :( On the bright side of things all my plants look pretty healthy well at least to me :). I am also seeing a lot of pistols coming from bud sites :) It's already starting to get stinky in my grow room haha I love it!!!

Those plants have a lot of stretch to them. And sorry to hear you lost one of your gals.
What's your total wattage on em?
Are those are all Indica's right?

Ya I know the stretch drives me crazy!!!! I actually broke down and ordered my HID grow kit. 600watt to be exact both metal halide and high pressure sodium. Gonna just make the switch once it's comes in which should be this Monday. On the strain I believe they are mostly sativa but one plant definitely has a different phenotype making it look a lot more indica. Total watts is around 240. Only other thing I wanted to mention is that when I checked them today man oh man they are starting to smell!!!!! In a good way that is!!

Good shit man, can't wait to see how they turn out.
And great choice on the HID. 600W is a good way to go, especially for the number of plants you have.
I'd keep the CFL's running as either supplemental light around the bottom and sides, and/or use the daylight ones just for your vegging babies.

So wanted to give a real quick update on my new HID kit and my grow! My girls appear to be adapting to the new light very well and they have all pretty much exploded in size and bud sites! I tried to take a couple of bud development sites pictures but my iphone camera isn't that great lol!!! Pictures don't do the justice and each plants has a good 25-30 bud sites developing not even counting the lower branches that I'm probably gonna get rid of soon. I believe today is the 9th day into flowering and in my opinion they are doing pretty good!!! Only issue I have ran into is keeping the temps down. :( they have been consistently 90ish which is terrible I know but I'm planning on setting up at least an outtake fan on Thursday to get rid of some of the hot air!!! Let me know what you guys think!

Good work disabling the gps exit data on your iPhone camera. ;) I've PM'd people their exact GPS coords along with a Google picture of their house to scare them into fixing that. Citing that they're lucky I only want to help, and that I'm not police. Everyone needs to make sure its off!
They're lookin good! Pics of the light?

Rofl ;) Here is a picture of my light. It is the Apollo brand kit off eBay. Only decided to get it because my buddy has had the same kit and been growing like a pro for awhile with no issues. I also noticed that my seedling looks really stressed, I'm pretty sure it's heat stress but kinda weird it's the only one like that. It's the white widow auto.
