What are the dimenions on the box? i don't think you will be able to grow 1 and a half feet and then flower in that box withouth scrogging, and even then only two or three will fit in there. and then you will need more lighting. i grow my plants about a foot to a foot and a half in a closet before they go in my tent.

I haven't measured the box out, it's 35 gallon Sterilite bins. I guess it's a good thing that I am already scrogging with 2 plants huh? As for lighting, I have two 42 watt 6500k CFLs and one 32 watt 6500k...on two plants...I think this will be ok until flowering! Thanks for replying. :peace:

It's all good :peace:. It is OG Kush + Sour Diesel!
Awesome, I grew that headband(sourkush) for over 2 years. I love that girl. I am growing the real sour kush(bubba kush x Sour diesel) in my thread. i am also growing a Headband(your SK is actuallu Headband) crossed with OG Kush by the name of DOG right now. Both very elite, and the Headband depending on the phenotype(both great) you can ven have a nice yield, but initially they yield low with a Lovely, Lovely smoke. i miss her, gave away my last seed, but the Dog pheno that leans to the
Headband is great. don't forget to check out my thread. ill be around the headband you have grows different and eats different than most kushes. im unsure about cfl's but under hids they get super frosty rock hard nugs. there are a zillion pics of it in my older journal.

I'm reading A Kush Lovers Thread as we speak :) I am pretty new to the game, but am very interested in knowing more abut genetics and crossing. The stuff you have on there is awesome, seems like you have tons of experience. I've been pretty much chiefin' and camping out on the forums reading, so I'll have some fun and work through the rest of your long ass thread!

Ha, thats the best way to learn. Avoid following the masses and do your own research and you'll be fine. And when your two ladies get big, don't forget to post pic too. I think you are in the right direction. All the rest will come with time.

I appreciate you saying so! And also appreciate you taking the time to post in the first place :). You'll be seeing me hovering around your thread :peace:

lol true...but I don't know if I'd want it that tall! It's just easier to use the screen and grow everything flat. Think I'm going to use a hall closet next grow :). Thank you for your compliment :peace:

Closets are great if you can keep temps under control. My veg room is a closet and so was my very first grow, lol.

Yup temps are the main concern. I noticed that the door is about 1.5 inches above the floor so maybe I can find a way to get some air in there!

If your goin in there with the cfl's. You're all good, maybe add a small fan. but you should be cool. I ran a 400watt in a closet with a small fan n did ok. but i keep my house kinda cold.

Here's a little update on the plants....they are looking pretty good. Haven't seen any signs of nute burn. Am still juggling the watering though, still doing just a little too much. I water before the lights go off and sometimes the Skunk is a little droopy after the lights come on. It corrects itself by the time I wake up the next morning (lights out from 6pm-10pm, 20/4). The FIM site on the Kush looks good, but then again I am a noob and what do I know . I see some new growth though, so that must be a good sign! Will post a pic of it next time I post an update (probably 2 days from now).

Also, my plan with the watering is not to saturate the soil and to never let it completely dry. I read somewhere that a good gauge is that if the soil feels more dry than moist, it's time to water. Am aiming to work up to watering every day or every other day. It seems like the Kush likes more water than the Skunk! I will not be doing any flushing. I know some swear that you will ruin the taste of your bud if you don't do it while flowering....but how do you flush MJ that is grown outside in the ground??? Going to do the best not to stress the girls!

As you can see in the pics, the Kush is growing upward while the Skunk is growing outwards (she's extra bushy!!). Lol figures since I'm trying to scrog. Hopefully Fimming helps the skunk to catch up though. She'll get there eventually. I can't stop looking at my plants, can't believe I helped them get this far. Can't help but be proud . Thought I was for sure going to be one of those people who destroy their grow from too much micromanagement haha! :peace:

I have flushed, and i have not flushed. the difference is minscule on a scale of other thing to worry about. As far as watering, i usually dont have to water my babies anything but once or twice a week. the test i use is the pot-lift test, if the pot feels weightless and dry i water, another way is stick your finger in the soil and if it is dry an inch or two down i'd water. but i wouldn't want to water everyday unless they are asking for it. and you will know by testing, don't be scared of dehydrating them in between watering they will let you know if they get too thirsty. as far as the morning droop goes, they are just waking up, at lights out all the leaves take a "nap" . They looking nice right now, how long before you plan on flipping, remember the skunk may triple in height, where the headband depending on the pheno may not stretch at all. Most times mine stayed nice, short n thick. the way they should be.

Wow that's what's up, just a small fan and 400watts ??....I am thinking about upgrading to a 150 hps and trying it out!

Well it was a veg closet and veg can take a bit more heat. but still if you were able to fit a nice size(not to big) oscillating fan i'm sure it would be fine. and a 150w hps would do you some good. for learning, do you plan on moving up even bigger. Or are you cramped for space at the moment?

Ok I will back off the watering then. Before I had to water them almost everyday, but they were in smaller pots and had a 24 hour cycle going.

I am not sure when I should flip...I know they will at least double in size and my screen isn't very big to begin with. I can't decide between letting them fill out the screen a little bit, or flipping now and filling the screen as their size increases. What do you think?

I hope to move up to even bigger....definitely an outdoor grow one day. But for now I am in an apartment and space isn't so easy to come by.

Ok cool. When to flip is all on you, they will increase verticaly fast for about ten days before sex, and then another week or two after sex before they stop stretching. With the watering, you don't want to drown them, which happens way more than dehydrating them the roots need oxygen to survive. the better your roots are the better your overall grow.
