Sounds good...except for the part about the foil! Foil reflects light at oblique angles so it is poor to use for plants. Also, it is said that it can create hot spots that will burn the plants! You can use Mylar, emergency blankets from Wal-Mart, car windshield sun reflectors (real cheap at dollar stores), or black and white poly.i built a box just like this but i have the cfl's mounted through the top and a intake and exhust fan mounted on the side did the foil around the sides and bottom and did the inside of the lid as well
That sounds like a good idea...I don't want to do anything extra though lol...like having to figure out exactly how many cups of salt will I need, how long will it last, how to arrange it when the plants get big...so went ahead and grudgingly spent the money Plus, with this perpetual thing my plant time will have to be divided up!Rice does the trick pretty well, we used to put a few grains of rice into the salt shaker, so the salt wouldn't absorb moisture and clump.
Decided to save the rockwool for clones too...I germed in it recently and the seedling had a weird crook in the stem...seen other people's like that too. It irks me lol.I have seed split. I ended up not using the rockwool for germination, save it for clones.
In the paper towel now, by tomorrow I should have a taproot.
Then we wait till they show face and it's off to the races!
