first time grower male of female calyx?

Hi everyone. I just recently started my first grow after weeks and weeks of studying the great wisdom on these forums. The reason i started growing is because i was severely injured in combat back in 2007 and was tired of having to take all these pills the VA have been shoving down my neck when mj seems to help better with most of the residual effects i have stemming from my injuries. From pain to ptsd it truly is a miracle drug for me. It is a must for me to have smoke just to get through my daily routines and I am getting to where I cant afford to supply myself anymore because of street costs in my location. Unfortunately my state does not permit medical mj and the va of course frowns upon the use of it. Very sad and i hope that people open their eyes and realize how many people can live a happier more enjoyable life with it. Everything has been going great so far with my grow and I have just started my 12 and 12 photo period 6 days ago. All of my seeds are feminized seeds from seed banks with the exception of this one bag seed in the photo which has been the first of my plants to show pre sex. I am having a really tough time telling if these are male or female calyx. I have researched on here and looked at many photos. I was hoping I could get the wisdom of some of you fine professionals or weather I should give it a couple more days. Thanks in advance folks. Here is an attached photo.

Hey man, males usually show sex first and from that photo it looks as though its a male. If you look at the top of the picture along the internode area you can see a ball forming?
Maybe give it a few more days just to be sure :-D

IMHO, it likely is male but just barely showing the signs
Pic's can be deceiving so I would advise you wait a few days as there is no rush.

Thank You Mr Hyde I will take that advise! I will update in a few days and thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge I greatly appreciate it.
Yeah, if there's no need to rush as they don't produce any pollen in the early stages

It's not often I receive a "thank you" as people often misunderstand my twisted ways.

Are you sure on this. I have read a lot it was the other way around.
That has always been our experience, males typically show gender before female, but not always

despite what you have read females show sex first. It's like that myth that aluminum foil causes hot spots... How do you expect the male pollen sack to pollinate a calyx if it hasn't developed yet?

Actually he was right. Males do usually show sex first, about 1-2 weeks earlier in fact.
"If you start with a female clone or feminized seeds, you don't need to worry about male plants. However, if you've just found seeds, or purchased unfeminized seeds, about half of the resulting plants will be male. Male plants generally show the first signs of pollen sacs 1-2 weeks before the female plant shows it's first signs of white hairs." "FloweringMale Plant
Under natural light, males usually start to flower from one to four weeks before the females. Where the photoperiod is artificially controlled, as with electric lights, males respond quickly (in about a week) to a change to short photoperiods and usually show flowers sooner than the females." The pollen sacks take longer to mature and open then female calyces do to grow pistils ready to receive pollen, so they begin development earlier. You need to rethink your logic.

I could point you to multiple sources that say otherwise. MALE POLLEN SACKS POP OPEN FROM 12 HOURS to a WEEK AFTER THEY ARE FORMED!! jesus.. do you guys eve grow and look at this shit or just parrot off one another?

I got 4 plants currently... 2 have shown signs of FEMALE while the other is showing NOTHING. yeah, real life experience here saying the claims that males show pre flowers first is hog wash and therefor debunked with my own 2 eyes. it's ok, a lot of things are wrong with the info that is put out there... Just a lot of people don't care to do the research themselves first hand

Ummm, or your other non showing plant(s) are females as well and just late to show. Its far more common for males to show first but like anything else, strain is a big factor. But if you read just a book or two you'd know this.
