First time grower. Trichomes on the leaves and the bud. Whats the diff

hi

Apologies for this question, but if the trichomes contain the stuff which get you high. Can I smoke the leaves and the bud? For some reason my mates told me I need to cut off the leaves after harvest and just dry out the bud, which I can smoke.
But the leaves which I was checking prior to harvest to verify the status of my grow, I’m now throwing out.

Which can I smoke/sell the leaves or bud?

I dry and grind the leave down to dust and cook in butter to make brownies and cookies. Search for recipes there are plenty out there. Kind of nasty to smoke but you can get some nice eats out of them.

Thanks for the speedy reply, but I don't understand why a trichome on the leave is different then a trichome on the bud? Aplogies again.

It's a good question....it is the trics that get you high. I don't know the answer, but I have noticed the frosty bud leaves work pretty well. Not quite as good as the buds, but not shabby. May be there are just more trics on the bud material?

leaf just has less thc. Bud = calyx = flower The flower seed pods are never exposed to pollen, and so they end up being filled with trichs in an attempt to attract some pollen.

Thus the basic difference between leaf and bud (relative to our uses) is that the leaf typically does not have the same trich/mass ratio as flower.

The trichomes on the leaves are called cystolith trichomes and do not contain any THC. If you look at them with a magnifying glass you will not see the resin glands on the tips of them as you would see on trichomes that are on the buds. No THC No High.

getting me high?
Not as high as bud but certainly as high as some buds.
So whatever the "chemical" is, it most certainly works and works well.

... lol the leaves of jtr are quite encrusted with milky trichs buddy wtih raised capsulate stalk thrichroms if it were that way i wouldnt use my leaf trim to make make hash

Have fun smoking your leaves. Ever had some one try to sell you a bag of leaves. lol. Trim yes you can make hash and butter or smoke it I guess if you ask these guys. But leaves man?

Oh you can sell the leaves that is if you can find someone hard up who just want smoke and doesn't care about the harshness my father had me smoke leaves in the past fucking hated it killed my lungs but was ok I sell all my leaves to my dad even sale my male plants so selling is possible but not usually probable make hash or use in cooking is your best bet!

no one says to smoke it again i make my hash outa mine and smoke that .... so their is thc on leaves and if your desperite with low tolerance it will work and it will give you a head ache but it will give you a buzz im not saying smoke the leaves im saying make hash if you can or butter and if you cant do that screen sift it
