First Time Growers Harvesting Thread

I would say you just got yourself a nice half ounce or a lil more. Good job man. What do you have in line for next grow? as in wattage or anything in particular...

Im gonna be growing some apollo 11 backcrossed with Aurora indica, and the CHURCH strain.

Im gonna be grow them under CFLS for the early stages of life then when big enough i might put them under the 400w right before the switch or i shall throw all three outside for this remander of this season. I just have planted the germinated fem.church seed. And all the apollaurora's have been alive for a good 5 days. Im thinking about building a grox box out of wood for veg. Also im gonna experiment with one apollo. LST then topp those heads. Im gonna use earth juice grow and earth juice bloom products, Im gonna use superthive to get them to grow up faster.[only in veg]. Im gonna LST the church strain. i think i coverd you question. Im gonna start a thread when my babies at 10 days old.

Lookin good .. Ill be harvesting here in the next couple days due to the temps rising pretty drastically. Right now they are in 48 hours of darkness then im choppin and I will post up harvest pictures.

I chopped on day 63 ( monday ) without the dark period, maybe next time. All is trimmed and drying nicely. It's too bad you gotta wait at least 10 days of just curing after drying to get that smoothness and flavor sought after. Damn it's not too bad in the bong but I rolled a joint of some stuff that dried for 4 days and cured for 3 and it's horrible to smoke. Really gross taste on the tongue and aftertaste and also really harsh on the throat. I hope the grassy bitter taste on the tongue goes away and it smoothens up... time will tell

Im sure it will, and yeah I am probably gonna cure for 2 weeks before I snag any of it. Im sure after a little while curing it will taste dank.

So I chopped her tonight Only got one picture and quality aint too great so I will take more after dried and/or cured. But it weighs 111.4 wet and made it through my first grow haha

Haha thanks, cut it down because I didn't want any molding. Next time ill be topping a few times, I just wish the summer would be over so I can start another grow

something you may want to consider when curing some of you bud is using some baked orange and lemon skins.

cut fruit and remove flesh.
you are left with skin and the white membrane.
bake in the oven on a low heat for an hour or 2.

scrape the membrane out.

slice skin into very fine strips.

mix a few orange and lemon slices together and suspend in your curing jars in some cheese cloth making sure the cloth does not touch any bud.

this is supposed to help bring out the flavour more.

i will be trying this on some of my next harvest.

Day 3 of Drying.
So i decided to get un jar those nuggets, there drying but there gonna need another 3-4days till evenly dryd. Soo i got a little popcorn nug close up. im burning this in the bowl as i post this.

Yup yup yup! I think the only thing I did other than being organic is that I let them mature at their own rate and that ended up being quite rewarding compared to other grows I've seen on this site with growers trying to speed up the process with their impatience
It's my first grow and I'm so excited!!

Do you guys trim the ends off of the tiny sugar leaves on your buds? I see a lot of pictures with them in tact. Am I suppose to leave them on with the rest of the bud. Smoke it when dried?

You can. I trimmed mine down pretty good though.
