i like the sugary leafs so i just leave them on. i like how they protect the thc on the buds itself.
Yeah it doesn't really matter. I'm not too worried about it all mine is personal :D But still I got down in there, left them on some though. Really just what I felt like doing, all an experiment at this point bongsmilie

okayyyy time has told ;) the stuff that has been curing for 5-6 days now has gone from harsh and bitter grassy tasting to smooth on the throat and sweet/skunky flavor. All I did was dry for 4 days in darkness at 80-85 F (both batches) and cure in large ziplock bags, air exchanging the bags 3 times a day. That is all that is needed to give you excellent quality smoke. I had to have the 80-85 because I got rid of my a/c and it's really getting hot outside here, it's hitting 32-35 degrees C lately. Next time I will slow dry it over about 7-8 days at 70ish and cure for 10 days. I think the 10 day cure will be sufficient for my needs. AHA I have learned how to dry and cure! Kinda important shit idnt it? LOL

Did it smell pretty wack when you first put it into the bags, not wack really but kinda like bud just with a weird funk to it? I just threw mine into curing jars today after drying for 3 days due to the high ass temps. On the next grow the temps won't be so high. But anyways yeah I just threw mine into jars today and it smelled like that so I was wondering ;)

yeah it had a bit of a pungent rotted grassy smell to it. After curing for 7 days the smell starts fading I found. I had high temps throughout my first grow too man, soon to be a thing of the past now that I know whats neccessary. Keep letting your jars breathe 3 times a day and you will be good

Here's a shot of my harvest after drying for 5 days. Immediately after this it went into a curing phase. It's still got aways to go before it smoothens right out and smells super nice.

Alright same. How long do you let them sit when you burp them? With the top off?

Nice try though it's 72.4 ounces so I got over four pounds dry off of my 4000 watt staggered MH/HPS setup. It looks smaller than that though due to the buds being EXTREMELY dense and that's not all of it. One little finger long bud weighs an 1/8th. That table is huge and that's a regular sized bic lighter in the middle. Anyways to answer the question I just air out the bags for like 20 seconds at most, mixing all the bud so it's gets aired out than it's back into lock down.

ya budz! Imagine all that hard work and babysitting to have it go moldy at the end! Not happening man. Keep an eye on it ( nose on it ) every few hours and you'll be fine. Any ANY bit of wierd smell or visible mold issue it's outta the jars and back to drying, maybe removing any bad parts that went bad. BUT as long as you keep a close monitoring on it, you'll never lose it to mold. I think it's more when guys do the super slow cure where you cut them down, trim them and immediately start curing that mold problems exist. Some guys say this gives them the classiest finished product. I dunno, I say too risky. I try to keep things simple as possible :bigjoint:

Yeah I was a little worried because it has a weird funk to it but I think it is fading some. I checked it under a microscope and didn't see anything. So I think I should be all good. And as the curing goes on the funk just diminishes and it smells like good bud? :D
