be careful and bend them till all the growth points are right about equal level. the reason lst works as it does is because the hormone that tells which part of the plant is the main growth point goes to the highest point. if all growth points are pretty much equal all of them think they are the main growth point. i'd only do it one and just let the new tops grow upwards.

I grow with 4' T12 floros, the 3000k are totally junk for growing, I use the 6500k for veg and full spectrum grow bulbs for flower. My last buds were ok, not super dence but not airy either. Your genetics is going to tell you. Frigin seeds, the last ones I bought were freaks, tall skinny and tiny buds, which usually means half breeds or hermies, what most people call them. I have better luck with bagseeds.

Thanks! Appreciate it! I have practiced on some plants that I knew were going to turn male and never have thought about keeping all points equal, even after reading about LST and learning about the hormones(Auxins) it releases. Keep in mind guys, I still have to pull males in two weeks! Also, is it okay to flower 12/12 with blue spectrum lights?

How much four foot T12 bulbs were you using?

Yeah I decided too just take some clones off the bottom branches after they sex instead. I bought some duetch master rooting hormone, anyone have experience with this? Next garden I will try LST.

I got three fixtures of two. One has two 6500k one has one 6500k and a full spectrum the other has two full spectrum, from the first to the last. Works good, and yup they save power plus you get twice the coverage. gb.

i dont really think they are too big, i prefer to let them get a bit bigger as when you finally do go ahead and bend them they are more advanced and more ready for the new growth to surge ahead as theyve got more energy producing capacity personally.
the cloning idea is an option too. i would probably lst though cuz otherwise they are gonna stretch like hell when they hit the stretch phase of flowering and flouro tubes biggest weakness is how quickly the light it puts out is lost. anything more than 4 inches from the light and your penetration ability is dead. that is being generous with it.(just so we're clear, right now you are planning on only using the 3 youve got? tbh thats not going to be enough. you must use sidelighting with tubes if you are going to use them as your main light imo. for that amount of plants at least a few hundred actual watts to add.

Thanks for being honest! I will eventually get more lights, baby steps right now. I figure a light and timer, floor fan, and planting containers sown with some good seed will get me I started. Improvements will be added incrementally

Hello everybody! Went in the garden today and seen a couple plants that I think might have male pre-flowers but the flowers are way to small to tell. Good news is I found female pre-flowers on my most branchiest plant, a female! I realized that if the plants that I think have male pre-flowers do turn male, then I only have one garentee female and 2 that still aren't showing signs yet. I was expecting a better male-to-female ratio. So I am wondering if it is too late to put my female back on 18/6 so it will go back into veg so I can take some clones and get some more bud out of it.

have any updated pics? having only 1 or 2 plants isnt that bad. you dont have enough lighting for much more than a few smaller plants and even when you add a decent amount of wattage it wont be enough for more than a few good plants anyway.

I want to have a motherplant and start clones under my light, grow them up, then put em outside under my lean-to I built. Bkuz your right I wont have enough light, i'm not saying it cant be done but its not the most effecient. Im looking for cheap-effecient-good bud

you could try getting an induction lamp...they are supposed to produce much higher PAR (wavelengths the plant can actually use) than HID or CFL...and they run cool and use little electricity. Could try getting a 150 watt one, or two 40 watt lamps... they have them at the kweekotheek.nl... don't buy it from hydroponicsut.com...

Why is that website in a different langage? I do not want to order from another country, those induction bulbs are pretty expensive.

Hi I have a little op going atm and they are coming along pretty nice my first grow using cfl's . I got a 250W actual watt 2700K and a 125W 6500K and 2 40W 6500 and also a 20W 3500 I'm not sure if that 3500 does much but hey. There in about 7 Weeks flowering 2 of my plants stunted due to topping just before flowering my other plant has been LST and coming along nice . Check it out . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ovpct3J_OM

heres what you do. get a power strip (surge protector) it has holes in back to sit on nails. Hang that on the wall, go to home depot and get 4 light sockets that you can plug into the powerstrip and get 4 40 watt bulbs. grab a couple clip lamps too.
I am flowering nice condense buds with 125 watts (energy efficient watts)
