First Time. What are my options?

Hello everyone, I am very excited to start growing and I have been reading a lot but I am still a little confused and I also feel I have very limited options with my setup so I am wondering how to make the most of what I've got. So here is what I've got going on. I have a good friend that is moving into a new house in the next few weeks and he will be housing the grow in a closet 2ft deep and 6ft wide and around 5ft tall. I want to use CFLs for lights and thats about all I have planned. I am currently experimenting with germinating a few bagseeds with the whole wet paper towels and plate method.At first I had planned on just tossing the seeds after germinating as I was just seeing how it was done, but I am very interested in taking the next step with these seeds if they germinate. So heres my problem, I am a couple of weeks away from having a good place to grow but I have an idea for starting the growing with my current set up but I'm not sure if it would work. My idea is to buy one of those big plastic storage boxes,cut some holes for the lights wires in the back of the box, possibly a hole for a small quite fan, that way I could put the top on the box put it against the wall at the back of my closet and care for it for a few weeks till we can make the move.Is this set up possible ? If it is, here is another question. What kind of pot should I plant the seed in? I am very nervous about transplanting it to a bigger pot later and I had read about a type of bio-degradable plastic pot that I could plant the seed in and cover that plastic container in the bigger pot later on and the roots would grow through the small container thus elemintaing transplanting the little plant.Also, what kind of soil is best to use that I can purchase from lowes ? One last thing, what CFLs should I buy for the initial planting of the seed?I plan to save up to buy the needed lights and stuff as the life of the plant goes on.
Thats all that I will need for the first couple of weeks I think.
I am sorry for the lengthy first post but I am very exciting (feels like being a kid waiting for christmas lol) and I want to do things the right way.

just wait till you can't sleep at night because your brain is thinking all the time still hapens to me. Anyways I don't know how good your rubbermaid tubs going to work. Look on here for a grow box setup on here if you want to go that way. I don't know your situation but they don't necessarily have to be in an enclosed area. For lights try to get the most lumens from the light source the 42 watts are the best i think at 2700 lumens so 2 or 3 of those would be great for vegging and save up for a hps or mh light for the move.

Haha I didn't think my rubbermaid idea was going to work but for right now I would need a small discreet grow box, at least discreet enough to hide in the back of an un-visited closet lol. So I'll look around here for some ideas. So are you saying to start using the 2 or 3 of the 42 watts in the beginnning ? or start adding in more lights according to growth during the vegging state?

the seed gets no light until it pops out of the ground. then i would use the day light 6500k cfl's that lowes has i think a 4 pack is like $10

how many are you going to grow?

lowes has the plastic humidity dome that comes with 72 peat pucks for like $10 too, get them wet and plant your seed into them,thats how i started,i now have them under a 1000w hps and there 6 ft tall.

6 plants i started with 2 cfl's then added 2 of the 120w spot grow bulbs lowes has (they work 10x better then the cfl's did) so i had 4 bulbs and 6 plants for the first month

Thanks for all your help, right now I am only going to grow 1or 2 . They are just bagseeds from some weed that wasn't great so I am not really looking for any sort of quality bud at all just doing this to get a plant or 2 under my belt before going for some good bud.

thats the same thing i did but i had seeds from some good stuff a buddy pollinated a big bud with a sour diesel to get some big bud diesel seeds.

one cfl per plant for first week then add 1 spot grow bulb per plant and you'll be ok for 2 more weeks then go from there.

you may be able to get rid of the cfl when you add the spot grow then add it back when it needs more light.

Ok so I went out and bought the humidity dome with the peat pucks and I have planted one of my germinated seeds in there. I also bought the lights but was not able to find anything higher than 26w CFL which is was a 100w replacement. It has 6500k and 1600 Lumens. Is this a strong enough light ? I bought a four pack but will return them if this will not do.

them are probably the same ones i use there very bright good color temp and OK lumen output for a seedling.when it pops out the ground put 1 or 2 of them about 2 inches from your dome top. i do 24 hour light on the cfl's but you don't have to 18 works too.the dome top only stay on about a week then i put a fan in the room to help get the stem strong.i've left them in the dome to long before, and they seem to fall over for some reason.
