Thank you Bearbl. Yes the polarized glasses was a big hit here so i am seriously considering those. I am currently looking into wood patterns to get him a pattern to make his own fishing rod rack. he'd really like that. I'm also gonna get him a fishing magazine subscription 'cause that will kepp him out of my hair. (heehee) just kidding. :-|
fingerless gloves is a good one too. :blsmoke:

I got a lot of really good ideas here from all of you and again I thank you so much.
I would never had thought of most of them.:mrgreen::blsmoke:

That was hilarious bongspit. I'm on dial-up so it took a while to download. (dial up sucks:?)

It was so funny that I woke hubby up (he wasn't impressed:?) but when he saw this we both laughed our faces off.

Yes I am getting him a good pair from a reputable fishing place. They are polarized fisherman glasses. I think about 70% of the people voted on the glasses and when I thought about it, it only made sense. (with the refection and all) but he's getting the floaty things so he doesn't lose them in the water!!!!!!!!!

Oh fish finders I looked out but the only ones I saw were from $1800 and up. :roll: That was WAY too much for me but i will check it out HolE.

Thanks for the suggestions.:mrgreen::blsmoke::peace:

I've bought him some unique lures, a pair of polarized fishermans sunglasses, but I still need to order a magazine subscription and try and find a 'fishing pole holder pattern' so he can make his won fishing pole holders.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a magazine?

We live around the great lales of canada so "fishing in canada"?
Do any of you guys get that or which magazine ??????:confused:

He's gonna be surprised. :mrgreen::peace:

I went out today to pick up a few last gifts for the hubby. I have a gift certificate for him to pick out a pair of fishermans sunglasses at Pro Bass Shop! or whatever it is called.

I have been trying to find a fishing rod rack pattern sp he can make his own but I haven't had any luck os far. I did find a book on how to make fishing rods, It was actually in a magazine. I was considering this but since he doesn't really know much about what type of rod he wants or needs yet, I decided to go against it and perhaps get it later for his birthday.

I few of you mentioned good fishing maps so I got him a book "Fishing Ontario" Backroad Mapbooks. It features depth charts and information on over 90 of the best lakes and rivers in the region.
And the best thing is, it is for the area we live in.
He's gonna like that.

Some of you mentioned getting some type of lure guide so I bought him a LURE ENCYCLOPEDIA by Frank Prokop
Over 500 lures tested (Lure selection guide dive depth)
It has some really CUTE pictures. :clap: I like it.

I also got him a Keep It Simple Series book.
"The only Guide You'll Ever Need to Become a Success at fishing."
It looks informative. :roll: Maybe I got it because i even understood it. :lol:bongsmilie

Anyway. thank you so much once again. I am tickled pink with the choices I made and can't wait 'until christmas to show him.:blsmoke::peace:

Thanks fdd. I think he is going to be really pleased too. I am so excited about it I am busting at the seams.
He knows what a big mouth I can be so he is trying to trick me into telling him and it is almost working. :neutral: But I haven't said a word:neutral::roll: Rippley's believe it or NOT!!

:lol::wink: Thanks again for all the help. I also saw a magazine with an article on how to make lures but he is pretty good with a lathe and all his other woodworking equipment so I think he can figure that stuff out himself.

you did very well. i think he will be pleased.:blsmoke:
