You can get them recharged though. Call your local AC repair shop, you would be surprised how much cheaper it is to get it "recharged", usually just replace the Freon gas. A lot of people replace their portable A/C units. I find them for like $50 on Craigslist, they just need to be opened up and cleaned properly of dust and shit, then get it recharged and its literally as good as brand new...people are just lazy, but I cant complain, more good deals for me. :mrgreen:

Good to know. Will look into that. Here's something crazy digital lux for heating and cooling reads 84, indoor outdoor accurite digital remote sensor says 94. Mercury Camel cigarette Joe Cool reads 103. My super stoner body thinks 87. Wow that's fucking all over the map anyone know of a really accurate never fail thermosat that can withstand 33000 lumens?

hah, im a post whore what can i say.. for real though i dont know how the fuck that happened LOL

well got my ac all hooked up last night rockin and rollin, keeps the temps magnificent in there with the co2.. but i know its sucking out a lot of co2 as well which sucks.. i may try to create a manifold to go over the intake so that i draw air from outside the room.. ill have to see how that works out.

but i did get the exhaust issue covered and i used insulated ducting and duct taped (god i love duct tape) it to the exhaust port so no extra heat comes out the back of that baby, i love it..

however, after expiramenting with it all last night, i am going to have to break down and get a dehumidifier and hook it up.. found a 65 pint a day lg one at home depot for 250, and has a 5 year warranty so i guess ill go scoop that up. it also has an automatic humiditty control which could be nice if it works..

in retrospect with all this extra shit i have to buy, and the increase in wattage from ac, dehumidifier, and controller, i probably would have been better off running more lights instead LOL i guess time will tell...

however the if the co2 does cut a week off the flowering time, and give me an extra 25 percent in yield, then it will be worth it for sure

You might want to consider a dual tube AC. Dual tube AC's are less efficient power wise, but they have 1 hose for intake, 1 hose for exhaust so they dont remove air from the room, just add cold air.

I prefer single tubes just because of the fact that they draw a negative pressure from the room. But different applications have different needs.

Hopefully its not too late to take in back and trade it in if necessary?


I would think it would put a lot of unnecessary stress on a single tube AC to modify and add an intake hose. Most single tube AC units use 1 fan, a dual tube portable AC will usually have 2 fans.

Do your self a HUGE favor, find a dehumidifier that you can attach a hose to for drainage instead of using the container that comes with it. Makes life SOO much easier to just 5 feet of garden hose from the Dehu to a garbage can or a drain...lol. Its good water to use for your plants too!

also i got a 65 pint haier unit from wally world for 169 or 189 and it has worked great so far
