Flower power

2, 150 watt cfl's for now! This was my first time even attempting
To grow anything so I admit that I have the minimum requirements.
and my grow space is fairly compact. Really don't
want a big tree anyway. I also would like to know
when I will be able to tell SEX of plant! I have 4 plants
in total... Unsure of sex or strain(sativa or indica) but I was told that
2 of the plants were Indica. Im not a botanist so I wouldnt know
I have let one of my plants grow without ANY nutrients, fertilizer or
any other supplement and it seems to be doin fine. Check
The pix out. Maybe you all tell me what I need to fully
Complete this process. Thank you!

Its just water.... I mist every 2 or 3 days and water every
3 or 4 days depending on the soil's moisture. As I've stated
I am workin with limited supplies and space. All my plants
Are just a couple days over a month(planted Nov 20th) and I have
NO testers or magnifying glasses or anything else for that matter
Light, air and water is basically all I have except for a few
other additives. I was told that they look OK under the current
circumstance! Do I need more lights??? Am I flowering right???
What nutrients from the common stores should I buy???
HELP!!! Lol

They will flower with the light you have.

I wouldn't worried about LSTing them, probably no need on this grow. Because of the small lights.

I wouldn't mist them once they are rooted, it can probably do more harm than good.

Good Luck on your grow :joint::peace:

Yo man I would have put your plants into flower when they where about half the size they are in the pictures, also when you put your plants into flower this is the time to start watching for sex of the plant. Do you know the signs to look out for??

you will most likely run out of head room cause they will stretch during flowering and usually end up at least 75% taller than they were when they were in vegetative stage (the stage youre in right now)

as long as temps and air circulation allow which it looks like you may need to def control that asap... you can def add more lights and try to use the different spectrum of cfl's the best you can get for what you have is warm on the 2700k side and thats pretty much the closest thing for cfl's you can get to having a decent "colour" of light to a flowering bulb...

now you can also flower with 6500k cool white bulbs or daytime bulbs and the stretch wont be nearly as much but you will generally have smaller flowers...

i highly suggest visiting the cfl section here on RIU and they will have a plethora of ideas and ways for you to maximize efficiency with what you got...

btw welcome to RIU and good luck and enjoy the grow ;)

It usually takes 7-14 days of 12/12 lights for your plants to start showing sex. Be aware that the plants could double or triple in flower. Looks very good though. Get a few more lights if you can with the red spectrum in them. +respect on your 1st grow.

You say a RED spectrum is good for flowering and seeing
that I am going light shopping today... Would it be too much
just to add a RED cfl lightbulb to the mix??? Also... I have been
growing in MG seeding mix with blood meal and plan on transplanting
today.... Which would be the best soil to get??? There is no FOXFARM
or HAPPYFROG where I am so if there is another you all may know
about... Let me know asap! Fertilizer info needed as well. Thank you!

TOO SOON! If you do, there will be a big drop in yield.
The side branches are still opposite (i.e. coming in pairs, in a Y or + shape).
When they start coming in alternates you can flower.
This only usually counts with plants grown from seed.
If you take clones from plants that have already become alternate, you can flower as soon as you like.
Look up elsewhere on here about sexing. You should be able to do it as soon as it's ready to flower. If you can't. It's not ready.

It isn't too soon at all, there are people pulling an ounce or even more per plant on perpetual 12/12 lighting from seed. Stay away from MG, it is awful for flowering...try Home Depot or Lowe's. In the outdoor section you'll probably still find leftover potting soil and such. Then check lighting sections for bulbs, see if you can find 42W(that's 200 equivalent)in 2700 heat rating.

Happy shopping!

But they are growing from clones, not seed. It's about the genetic age of the plant. Flowering now is the human equivalent of trying to get a 10 year old girl pregnant. It may work but it's not a good idea.
