Flush Advice

huh?
is that saying flushings a waste of time

I did a run last spring in hydro where I used an additve called pure flower (I know lol) The one plant finished early and when smoked had an aftertaste and the one that was later was fed just nutes at half strength for two more weeks. The later plant had no after taste. Would soil be any different in getting rid of this? I stopped using the stuff but the flush did have some positive results, i know op is discussing soil but would the effect not be the same?

Advanced Nutrient Flushie Flush!!!! Steep price but fuck it. Cool ass bottle design too. You'll see a big difference. Not because your tricking your mind into them looking good, they just will...

I only lower ppm gradually. I don't technically flush because that would be depriving plants nutrients when they need them most. Also, Chem or organic, it's all the same elements, the plants don't care where they come from. It's the same. As for taste of flushed umflushed, I don't notice. It's all about how you dry and cure. Period.

what the fuck chuck, you think you're the final word? laughable.

OP do whatever you want, this debate will never end.

How many people who are in favor of flushing, actually flush?

Seems like most feed plain water for their last couple feeding but aren't really flushing their medium.

Comments like "I flush for the last 5-7 days." make me raise an eyebrow. What are they talking about?

I saw a guy in another flushing thread trying to insult people because they told him flushing was bullshit and then he says he gives two gallons of water per plant for the last couple weeks vs his normal 1 gallon per plant. That's not a flush and anyone who has dealt with a salt build up in their grow medium should know better.

So you flushers, what is your process for flushing? What is a "5 day flush"?

Well, when I used to flush in the long long ago times, i would swap out my res with plain water for 7 days. I grow hydroponically though. So only water on a 3 or 4x a day flood schedule for 7 days. Now i just start diluting my res with water to gradually lower ppm over the course of 7 days. On the day of the chop my res ppm is around 250. If there is a salt build up, BEFORE harvest, say maybe 1 month into flowering, i FLUSH to remove salts from my roots and medium because salts can cause lock out. That is the proper reason to flush. Harvest flush, no. Salt buildup flush, yes. There is a difference, in my opinion anyway :p

Everyone has their own preference, so whatever people comfortable doing, keep doing it. If you only harvest on a full moon while dancing around a bonfire at midnight, go for it. bongsmilie:peace:
