Flushing before harvest is Bro Science!

it has NO delaration of conflict of interest. why? it's a nitrient brand company making a study on nutrients using their own nutrients !!!
I was waiting for someone to catch on. Some people get so angry and don't want to have a discussion anymore.

Not to mention the guy in the video to the left looked like he took a sleeping pill before the meeting and was looking at a blank pad of paper acting like he's doing some really important stuff.

the evidence presented is also conflicting: how come that a flushed plant has increased mineral content...? as if said minerals can be gathered out of nothing

Yeah and they tried saying the flushing increased* Zinc and their charts are made probably by someone from Fiverr. lol

Basically doing everything in their power to convince their clients to feed to end to push more nutrients?

Funny that their feed chart recommends a flush week 8.

you are missing the point.

I have not criticised the results, but the way these informations have been acquired.

and this is why it has not been published somewhere else
You’re missing the point I think?

it's not peer-reviewed
it's only published at their own site or grower-forums but nowhere at conventional science orgs
its format doesnt even adhere to real scientific studies

somebody needs to be a true bro and make a study with 20 clones 10 vs10 flush no flush all same clones

I was curious about this too, I suspect it has to do with osmotic regulation in the absence of incoming salts in the feed.
plant probably had used everything expect that and a lot of that is left. thats why there is "more of some minerals"

So a flushed plant had higher mineral content = flushing doesn't work. I thought that was the point.

The problem is, the results still rely on "taste tests" so it would still be arbitrary. I'm not going to get into another flushing thread beyond saying I agree with the results of this study, simply because it matches up with my personal experience and that of my mentor and close friends who are excellent growers. I like to reduce my EC towards the end of flower, particularly the Nitrogen content in the last two weeks, but I keep up the K because the final weeks are when they pack on weight. Seeing my strongest branches fall over in the last week prior to harvest is one of the sure signs of ripening. Flushing is one of those ideas that make horticulturists roll their eyes, just like pre-germination, dumping boiling water on your roots at harvest, pounding nails into your stalk, along with any number of other bro-science practices. It's one of those things that people believe in because they were taught to grow that way and they've never tried anything different. I've flushed the hell out of many a plant back in the day and never noticed a difference between a flushed plant and an unflushed plant. Running high EC and poor drying practices have the most noticeable impact on final quality in my experience.
