Flying Dutchman has some good genetics IMO.......I grew some "Pure" last year...was some of the best I've grown and smoked....I'll def. check out the orange...rep to ya...

Thx. Yeah I agree, Flying Dutchmen is a good company. Never heard anyone beeatch about them ever. The prices are reasonable...the germs rates are solid, the genetics are stable...what's not to like?

Ah here is my weekly update. Day 49 and still plumping up.

I actually quick dried a popcorn nugget last night just outta boredom.

I was surprised that with only a night of drying...that it not only got me lightly stoned...but that the stone lasted a good hour. Tomorrow will be my last feed for
this plant...then 2 or 3 weeks of flushing...then choppy choppy.

3 feet tall, 28" wide. Main cola is 12" tall.

A day early...but anyhoot here is day 55. I have decided to try switching to mh for the last few weeks. I've read that it boosts resin production, potency and taste...at a cost of a bit of yield. I'm a personal grower and the plant will make plenty I figure...so why not?

Started the flush a few days ago...plants is eating it's leaves rapidly. Now the leaves range from yellow...to a light green. No dark green leaves left.



Though my phone pics do not capture it...everywhere is covered with frost. I learned how to use the timer and take "better" shots...so the "blurry" white on the surfaces...is not blurry it's trichs.

Well in veg I started her in a party cup (no nutes at all)...then after a few weeks I move her into a 3 gallon pot that has had blood meal mixed into the dirt.

From there we wait until the 12/12 switch and I hit her with a large dose of bat guano that is extra high in P so as to really induce flowering.

After that I go MG 15-30-15 and molasses in light to moderate doses with every watering.

Well we are getting close...a few more days...maybe a week.

Oh btw...she smells pretty sweet skunky right now. Strange...the odors on this plant change every few weeks it seems. Early in flower she had a light
skunk smell...that morphed into a sweet skunk smell...that morphed into a orange-y smell...that morphed into a orange industrial warehouse cleaner smell...
that now has morphed into a fairly strong skunk odor with a hint of sweet.

So I take back my low-odor grow on this plant...it was true when i said it though!

HERE WE GO!!! Cut and trimmed on day 68.

Main cola is about twice as tall as soda can...thicker than can in the middle of cola.

The paper these were shot on is 11x14" glossy in case you wanted more scale info. Two sheets side by side = 22"w x 14" h.

My fingers smell GREAT! Kinda of a clean, light orange smell.

My camera is still a mere cell phone...and I don't really have too big an interest in macro photography...so we get what we get for pic quality. But she is very frosty...I got a very nice scissor hash ball for later.

Well we are about at the 4 day drying mark...due to it being winter n all...the humidity is VERY low. So after de-stemming and cutting it up into bite sized chunks late last night;
weighing 24 hours after that...I feel safe in saying the final bud weight will be 2 ounces +/- a gram or so.

What I'd do different now that I've gotten my first Royal Orange grow finished? I'd feed for one more week knowing now for sure it is a 70 day strain. (The flying dutchmen website says 53 - 70 days)
It's 70 minimum. So i cut a few days early this time. The three week flush I did is a bit overkill and probably hurt my weight a bit. 2 weeks would've been much better. Also I switched to mh at same time as i started flush for increased potency and resin production...I think this was a good move as even samples barely dry are proving pretty strong. But I switched a week early looking back. HPS is more efficient than mh...so you lose a bit of weight. I'd also SCROG next time as my tall main cola made even light distribution a bit of a pain with a measly 250 watter.

With a 2nd grow using the above learned tidbits...I think I could pull as much as 3 ounces per plant.

Hell I'll chime in. How did the rest of the grow go? I'm about to order some of these for my first grow, but I'm also going to try some hydro. Any thoughts in that dept.?
