A thread for all. Men, women and children! We all wear shoes and shit. Let's talk about it! Unless you're a stupid fucking worthless dirty hippy that don't wear shoes. Cut your toenails Jeff they look like a fucking velociraptor...

I needed a new pair of boots for work. So I bought a really cheap pair for under $40 on Amazon. And a really expensive pair of Timberlands for $140. To compare and contrast. But then decided that I liked the Timberlands too much to fuck them up at work. So I bought another pair to fuck up at work. Then it occurred to me that I only own hiking boots.

So now I'm currently perusing the interwebs for shoes. In years past I've always bought the cheapest New Balance I could find. Not like "your dad's New Balance" but decent looking ones. I think I've owned half a dozen pairs now and they are exceptionally comfortable. I'm not one to ever spend a lot of money on myself. For anything. But it just occured to me that good quality footwear is probably a worthwhile invest for how much I walk in life. So I think I need some shoes. I think subconsciously I kept buying hiking boots in case the rapture comes and I need to disappear into the woods.

What's your guys all thoughts?

Amazing! Those look sick. They're a Swiss army shoe. Amazing. They got a built in butt kicker. And on rare occasion a tire kicker and shit kicker??!!! Beautiful! That's awesome. What is the brand?
Lol. Swiss Engineering is the brand. The most comfortable sneaker I have ever had. The only thing you need to be careful about is stepping in dog shit. The sole has tiny air pockets and the only way you can get the dog shit out is machine washing. They are machine washable so it’s ok , you don’t have to throw them out.
I have one pair of doc Martin boots, 2 sneakers, one pair of Reef flip flops , one pair of hiking Merrell hiking shoes with a vibram sole , a pair of keen waterproof sandals and one Pair of platform sandals. That’s it.

You just blew my mind. Machine washable. We're sending civilians to space and putting shoes in washing machines. The future is now!

I am sorry to name a product as an un paid spokes person. Damn you.

I have been really happy with "Timberland" work boots. A bit pricey, but worth it. I still wear my painted work bootsbefore my new hikers. LOL. That kinda comfort.

So hears the thing with my job and boots… Because of all the chlorines and acids and just abuse in general… I've never had a boot last a whole season. The glue on the soles just dissolves eventually. That's why I buy boots 2 pair at a time. The more expensive Timberlands do last a little longer but not 3 times as long as the 3 times the price tag would have you think. But these new ones look pimp.

My feet are far to precious for cheap shoes, I have flat, wide feet so first off just finding a pair that A. Fit and B. Don’t look like old man shoes is hard. Brooks, New Balance and Asics are my go to shows for daily life. I’ve owned enough that I can fairly safely buy online.
Shop those companies direct for some killer last year model deals. I picked up a pair of $160 shoes for $109 recently from Asics.

For boots I stick with Dunham, Georgia, I’ve had good luck with Solomon and Asolo hiking boots also.

I worked in some nasty degreasers and just sloshed lacquer thinner and mineral spirits around. I would suggest a good pair of boots and cheap galoshes or over boots.

I know not what you do.

Have you ever had shoes or boots with the Vibram sole? It’s a game changer. Also I suggest keen shoes because of the rubber sole they have as well. They never wear out.

I don't think I have. The really expensive NB I was looking at had them though I think. Let's check.
