typically you are right... when we as people talk about all the time we talk 24/7..

but since plants hours are dependent daily (by that i mean plants life cycles are based in 24 hour cycles) each time we talk about light cycles for the plant it is strictly for 1 day only.. and each number has a meaning.. so 24/0 translates into 24 light/0 dark.. 18/6 translates in 18 hours of light/6 hours of dark... if that makes sense....

germination is from seed to sprout/transplant

vegging is anytime the light cycle is over 18 hours a day and your passed germing, until you flower..

flowering is anytime the light cycle is 10 to 14 hours a day, until you harvest...

harvest is cutting down the plant...

drying is the time it takes the plant to dry long enough to cure

curing is when you put the dried buds in jars to allow the moisture to even out and the bud to really finish drying, along with increase scent and flavor...

this all holds true for automatic strains also, except flowering cant be done with more than 14 hours of light... autos will flower under any light cycle.. but that is strictly auto flower plants..

you can veg your seeds as long as you want.. you can start a seed at 12/12 (flowering light cycle) and flower it from seed.. but the plant will never fully reach maturity.. the longer you let the plant veg, the larger it will get and more potential yield it will have...

if you want to really get the most of the plant you need to let it reach maturity.. the way you know you reached that is either from alternating nodes or from preflowers (pistils for females, or sacs for males) forming.. this usually takes 3 to 4 weeks of solid vegging...

now.. your plants are small for 3 weeks.. i wont lie... but.. its somewhat based on the lighting you have... plants absorb light and use it.. basically light is the kick start for all plant functions.. they use it for energy... if there isnt enough light the plant cant get the energy needed to grow... although shop lights are good to root seedlings/clones they arent the best to grow them in.. at least not unless you have 2 or 3 shop lights... so if you want to get faster results, you may want to consider a way to increase lighting... be it more floros, the addition of some cfls, or even an HID of some sort...

the other problem... well not problem, but puzzle... is the bagseed.. with bagseeds you never can really tell what you are getting.. the seeds could be old, not viable, pre mature... they could be ripe but contain very poor genetics... if your seeds are bad from the get go, nothing you do to the grow will make it work.... you may want to consider spending a little and getting some good seeds to start with... it could save some headache down the road...

i have a lot of duplicate answers... i am sure not everyone reads the first page anyways.. us as a society have gotten used to instant gratification.. we seek the easiest path from A to B... if this means asking questions and getting answers without having to do the grunt work (reading) then we'll do it...

so...... i am in veg stage............how long before i should put it onto 12/12 to start flowering, and i can do my super cropping and topping during this point......but does super cropping or topping slow the growth down?

yeah i started with 10 seeds and it took me a very long time to getup to 10,,,,, my guy has been givvin me the same exact smoke for some time now and its GOODDDD its by no means "white widow" but its a very potent mids.....that willl stick you on the couch, or send you buzzing around the house like speed i guess it depends on your mood prior to smoking....i am not too sure about ordering these seeds online......doesnt the gvrmnt keep tabs on shit like that???? beside i wanted to do my learning process with some free ones....

you can veg as long as you want... i would suggest allowing them to grow out some more.. at least try to let them get 2 or 3 node sets.. then switch to 12/12....

super cropping can actually boost growth.. but you dont have enough of anything to super crop or even top right now... you'll have to wait for more growth out of them to start any sort of pruning....

potency is not related to lights... it is based on the genetics of the seeds and maturity of the plant... genetics will only allow any plant to get as potent as the genetics allow it... it can only reach that max point after becoming matured... and assuming there is no catastrophic stressor throughout the grow.. stress can easily diminish yields...

after harvesting the plant dies if left alone.. if you harvest the top 2/3 to 3/4 of the plant, cut the remaining flowers off while leaving the branches on, and stick it back under 24/0 lighting it will, after a week or two, start re-vegging and growing again.. the yield will be less than it was before.. and if the genetics arent stable it can cause a hermie.. i personally have never done this.. i just take clones, let them root, and start over that way..

it makes sense wanting to keep your learning to free seeds... but again this means you at the mercy of the seeds... as long as you get some good healthy seeds you should be ok.. its just a gamble anytime you use bag seed..

the worst part is when you think you are doing something wrong and its not you at all.. its the seeds... then you have issues you cant fix.... just a warning...

as far as seed tracking goes, no.. the gov has little to do with... the worst that can happen is customs intercepts it and you get a letter saying "you can pick up your package at so and so a place"... if you order them right and get the ensured shipping they will resend them free of charge (if you use the attitude).. unless you buy a few thousand in seeds and they get picked up you have relatively little to worry about.. i have 4 or 5 successful orders myself.. plus countless other stories you can read about around here..

ok looked up some seeds thro "speedy seeds" .... do you know anything about "paradise amstradam flame"...? it says 19+% thc and tastes like fruit w/ a knock out buzz...

i dont know about that strain (amsterdam flame) or about speedy seeds... i have read a couple shaky reports on them.. but its just stuff i have come across.. nothing i have looked into..

i would be a little leary when reading thc levels... without getting much into a lot of companies sell f-1 or f-2 seeds.. these seeds are the first or second generation of the plant... which means there can be a ton of varrying phenos... breeders have hundreds of plants to use to choose the best of the bunch as an example... its possible to get what they claim.. and its just as possible to fall short... my best advice is go by what sounds the best to you... or what other recommend...

what would you suggest.. i smoke from time i wake to time i sleep but small amounts through out the day early on very little just to keeep an even plain.. the more and more the later in the day by night fal TOSTED... i want something that isn't harsh... almost sweet or fruity tasting, that i can take a couple lettle tokes and be good to go for a couple hours... also since space and funding are limited i would want the most poten/highest yeild possible...right now am growing in my wardrobe.... but have a wonderfull room outside in the making, so i would like a short but FAT plant....what do you suggest....

the attitude is the best place imo to get seeds... there are a ton of options on there... so you can do a lot more looking.. but look for heavy indica plants to achieve what you are looking to get...

best way to do things... get a pre paid visa... pay with that... you can send to a friend or a po box.. your house is fine also... just dont get thousands of dollars in seeds or anything sent there...

How long do u keep your seedlings under the dome?

so with the ak 47 you get to smoke in 7 weeks???? how much does it produce is it harsh hows the taste how high is high???

i dont keep seedlings under a dome.. only clones... clones only need to be left under a dome for a couple days...

that could be part of the issue too.. there is typically a transition phase between vegging and flowering where bloom nutes are introduced while the plant is weened off of veg nutes.... sometimes if there isnt a transition it can cause some minor problems... but nothing to worry about.... you may want to flush once with a 1/4 strength "all purpose" fomula (equal part grow, micro, bloom) along with cal-mag... then drop the grow formula and begin increasing the bloom formula...

ak yields arent great.. pretty average... you can figure 1 to 3 ounces on average per plant... but that is very dependent on the grower and grow also... more experienced growers can get more than that... its just an average number...

the smoke is great... its not harsh.. but is very expanding.. the main part of whether or not it is harsh is how well it was dried and cured.. but if cured right the smoke is smooth, expanding, and tasty...

the high can kick your ass if the plant is grown to its fullest.... its amazing even if not..

ya your right man ok so i just took out one of the plant i had and the root was not even growing at all i got it in new soil so maybe it will help and i 've got the info on on my hours the sun hits the plants at about 8:30am or so and gos down about 5pm so im try to find a place where i can get them in more sun but the only place is on the roof and i cant do that cuz of the helicopter. i got 4 more seed germing now so maybe ill have better luck there from what a friend of said to be kg kush ? but any ways wait would be your best opinion

Hey man, the OTM seedlings looklike they want to do what the other seedlings do. That is they stretch, grow very small leaves while slowly discoloring until it stunts and turns pale then dies. Im feeding filtered water, 6.2 PH, let the soil dry, keep them close to the lights (theyre under t5's not some weak flourescent) Etc. The seedlings still want to stretch and keep getting lighter in color. The cotyledons on one of them is darker green than the vegitateive growth. Its merely furthuir ahead in this process than the others. Im pretty pissed to say the least. But Im just trying to catch this before it takes effect. Maby Im overworrying.theyr about 2 weeks old and that also concernes me. They dont seem to be doing much. Healthy seedlings dont really look like these ones.
