Come on man think about it. Rebuilding means jobs. What does it cost? A few digits on a computer we call money. Just fictional promissory digital notes we use as currency in trade. Remember the hurricane that "destroyed" New Orleans? I was just there about a year ago and everything looked fine to me.
We are humans. California will adapt at whatever the price. Desalination comes to mind. No doubt humans rape the resources on earth. No doubt we are harmful to the natural ecological system. But, I'll bet you you're just as guilty as most of the common at partaking in the type of things that rape our resources.
Anyway, all this reminds me of Easter Island. like 800 years ago some Polynesians migrated to the island in the Pacific Ocean. On rafts or whatever like people still do to get to new land with better resources where they think they can have a better life. The Polynesians cut down all the trees. lol. Thsts the most popular theory. The following story has another theory. In all tho, I think the message is clear and you may enjoy it. I know I know. You already studied all this and know everything about Easter Island and everything else on the planet present past and future. I know. Anyway. Enjoy b

Just to be safe, what do you mean by "cali is done". Specifically, what will happen. And, when will it happen. Finally, what should residents of California do now?
as for the rest of it .........no clue as we all know the weather patterns are not fallowing models that they use too
plus the ppl factor ......they can speed it up faster or slow it down ......if cali does not get 3 years of above avg rain soon i know a few of the little towns are done they can not keep spending the money they are to bring in water .....crop failure and lower number of live stock means less money as prices increasing
your goodHmmmm. Income inequality at record levels. Climate change leading to dust bowl drought conditions. When I say that America is living through another Great Depression, I'm talking about conditions as they currently are. Today. Now. Nothing hypothetical about it.
California is but one of many places experiencing serious impacts due to weather and climate change.
California is in for a long haul to get itself straightened out and Mother Nature is not going to be of much help. This will be a drag on the economy for the foreseeable future. This is my read on what @justugh was referring to, but please do correct me if I'm wrong.
your good
just add in i am thinking the worst possible future .....if crops keep failing at this rate and we do not come up with something soon...5 to 7 years food riots just before USA falls apart
I'm not going this far with you. I think there's a lot more resilience in OUR system in terms of national food security. Don't forget that much of America is farmland, producing a surplus we sell worldwide. The rest of the planet, not so much.
I think that things will get worse until enough people step forward to demand change. This has happened before in American history so it isn't unprecedented, only in our time. Maybe this time around we'll have the brains to cap the corporate money genie in the bottle and keep it from destroying our political system...
Aaaaaaaand maybe not, but two things are for sure; time WILL tell, and nothing less than our collective future and that of our children is at stake.
look at the crop reports for the last 10 years ......factor in that 15% of corn is automatically ear marked for fuel conversion .....then factor in what u call surplus is actually part of trade agreements we made with those ppl for certain oks (it is not surplus but a demanded payment)
as for the ppl raising up and demanding change ........not going to happen with the elitist in power 1% of the pop with 60% of the money .....they will never allow it to happen it will take a war to force change to remove greed from daily life
I see it your way, too. I'm hoping we get 2/3 of the pop to fight back through the system. Bernie for Prez! If not, your scenario looks more and more likely.
Please explain the contents of your 'earthquake preparedness kit' kept in your automobile.Just to be safe, what do you mean by "cali is done". Specifically, what will happen. And, when will it happen. Finally, what should residents of California do now?
Reminds me of when I was a little kid in the 70's. My older sister in high school would come home crying cause the world was surely about to end after the imminent nuclear war with Russia. They had to close the schools down a couple of times because the kids were all panicking over this. It's laughable now, but at the time my sister was seriously sobbing with real tears. I was young so was just like WTF? lol. Parents were mostly just like.
Peace and love people. Everything will be ok if we are all just down with the peace and love. Kapish?![]()
Well let's see. Some here are predicting doomsday a coming and with some emotional concerns of how it will adversely effect our planet and us. I'm singing kumbaya and feeling pretty chill today even on a Monday.Doesn't work that way. We need to remove the incentive to start wars and remove the ability to profit from them in order to put a stop to it.
Staring at crystals while singing kumbaya in a drum circle isn't going to do shit. Sorry.
