For the Experienced DWC Grower

What nutes do you guys recommend?

im not an experianced dwc guy only on my second round, but in can say that technaflora nutes are pretty good to start with. all i used was the boost, grow, bloom, magical, awsome blossom, liquid karma cuz the b1 red went bad, sugar daddy or sweet raw, and aquashield. I dont want these nutes to go to waste so im gonna use them up and move on to something a little better, or i might just stick with them a little longer. You wont be dissapointed with these nutes.

I been using a dwc setup for some time now and truely believe that the best success comes from high quaility synthetic nutrients and tons of air stones as root rot is usally the cause of not enough oxigen to the roots. I suggest not to use any organics in dwc even if they say its ok this includes mollasis. I just switched from there 3 (2)part Lucas formula with calmag +to there new 2 part Lucas bottles and will be hoping for good news. I think using just the basic ingredients without boosters etc in dwc seem to work best.

Any synthetic (non organic) nutes that are made for hydroponics will work just fine. There is a lot of hype surrounding hydroponic nutrients made for hobbyists, but there is little difference between the brands. They are all made with the same chemicals. Steer clear of exotic supplements, they are not necessary.

im sorry for the confusion but i could have made this clearer,my bad, but im a very busy person. and im looking to use a nute in wich i dont need to clean the rez every week. maybe twice a month, once would be better, but depending on results and/or testimonials of a particular product i may consider anything. but Definately not more than once a week. ive read about AN and Floranova and i cant say that im swaying either way. im a first time grower. so im basically looking for ease of nutes to a good yield ratio type product, if you guys understand what i mean, help ya boy out lol

DWC for 3 yrs and have used BC techna flora, GH flora nova, Dyna-gro, & Advanced nutrients

Dyna gro is by far the simplest and least problematic formula I have ever used. I am now trying aqua flakes AB and am pleased. But they still discolor the water and contain some organic matter.

Flora nova is great stuff but also will cause problems if left unattended to long.

For me what I have noticed over the years of DWC is the more clear the formula is the least problematic it is in DWC

Dyna gro and pro tekt are the only things you need. Well really you dont even need the protekt but I highly recommend it. If you find you need calmag BC does have the best calmag (calimagic) for DWC I hate DG magpro because it has WAY to much phosphorus.

2 things you absolutely should not even attempt to grow hydro without are a ph meter and a ppm meter

Which product line have you the best results

if you are that busy i would recommend you not start growing because you will end up dissappointed. you will be on here asking why this and why that and it will boil down to toxic buildup of unused elements in the res, root rot, and ph issues. hydro is a commitment.

I agree with superstoner1, there are many things that can go wrong in hydro. If you are not committed to checking on them multiple times a day until you know what you are doing they I would suggest soil to start out in.

If you are willing to change out your reservoir at least once a week then you should be fine with hydroponics. Go with whatever brand you desire, as long as it is made specifically for hydroponics.

Well I was thinking dyna gro. But now I am starting to wonder...

I am only two weeks into H&g aqua flakes but I already thing they are going to be less problematic. Their drip clean is awesome and I am getting no salt build up and no dead roots anywhere = no root rot, no bad bacteria. I use aqua flakes a&b, drip clean, multizen, and dark energy (similar to h&G amino product.) I will add in bud xl and shooting powder later in flowering. My ph is stable rising a 0.1 over a day as the ppm goes down just like it should.

So either way d.g or H&G are good in your case. In 2-3 months I could give a definite answer but not right now. Either brand its up to the user to watch the ppm and ph to make sure all the nutrients stay available at all times to the plant. Leave unattended to long and the ph goes off no brand of nutes are going to help. Leaving a system unattended for days is only for a highly experienced, dialed in grower that knows everything that is going to take place and when its going to happen.

SuperNatural is great but powder is meh... DynaGro is awesome for low cost excellent results salts. I like using all in one products as using the likes of AN in the past with the tens of additives needed got too time consuming for the results they yielded.

I just pulled 8.3oz dry off my 3.5 gallon King Kush Scrog plant with SuperNatural.. so I am sticking with this for a bit.

I have 2 rounds rdwc with flora nova. I recommend reading about the Heisenberg tea for dwc grows. Next round I think I will try out the K.I.S.S. method dwc. I like the powder maxigrow so far. The maxigrow seems more synthetic and more "clean" so should be better for dwc. Plus the stuff is so much cheaper. Why pay for water?

Hahahaha

I dont know. Ive never used them but they look more suitable for outdoor soil applications. I have heard of people using it in hydro successfully. I wouldnt. They just seem cheapo to me. Im sure ill get hell for saying that...o well.
