If time is a problem why not do hempy buckets....its mucho easy and yeilds just as well as dwc

Dyna gro is by far the simplest and least problematic formula I have ever used. I am now trying aqua flakes AB and am pleased. But they still discolor the water and contain some organic matter.

For me what I have noticed over the years of DWC is the more clear the formula is the least problematic it is in DWC

Dyna gro and pro tekt are the only things you need. Well really you dont even need the protekt but I highly recommend it. If you find you need calmag BC does have the best calmag (calimagic) for DWC I hate DG magpro because it has WAY to much phosphorus.

2 things you absolutely should not even attempt to grow hydro without are a ph meter and a ppm meter

I'm just getting ready to take the plunge into DWC and already have every product that DynaGro lists on their feeding chart. I was wondering though, when the PH and PPM starts to change, how do you know which nutrient to add in order to re-adjust the PH level? Maybe i'm making it too complicated, but maybe you could walk me through a simple example of what you do to adjust the PH halfway through a veg-cycle.

Also, did you ever deal with any salt build-up with DynaGro?

Down on the powders eh man? I use supernatural, it blows shit away, i think the powder thing is great. What my hydro store told me is that with the powders, they don't have to put preservatives into the product, where as all the other liquid nutrietns out their, have to contain a preservative(unless its a hormone product like superthrive) otherwise the shit would grow mold in a few months. I don't want preservatives in my food, and i certainly don't want it in my medicine. It made sense to me!

not only are you paying for unwanted preservatives you area also paying for the water in the bottle. i like powdered nutes so i dont have to pay for water. my current round i switched to the maxibloom in my bubble buckets.

As far as my research shows.The Flora series is just nutrient chemical salts dissolved in distilled water,making for precipitate salt crunchy cap threadings as the water evaporates over time.If you go to the right product page it will read "our best kept secret" under Maxi series. http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/products/nutrients/

The Flora 3 part is good for mixing ratio's to tailor your crops needs.Lucas is just ratios tailored for cannabis,and may not be the best for say Lettuce for an example.The Maxi powder is the raw broken down elemental or near elemental nutrient chemical salts.Chemical Salts sound nasty,Right?

Chemical Salts,are just compounds made neutral,purified,dissolvable in water,and easily uptakeable by the roots.This sums up the complex process the Lab takes to make salts,with mined from the earth chemical compounds that fit a plants nutritional needs.

I use Maxibloom.Maxibloom is Lucas ratios.I use in DWC,Passive Hydro,and outdoor soil with no problems.The label is just like other labels with a hot dose listed.

My suggested dosage with Maxibloom using RO water or tapwater that has no problems with staining,or build up around faucet/drain areas. Target ph of 6.Keep in mind this stuff is readily absorbable by the plant in the correct PH range.New growers follow the lite side,and remember "Undernute is better than overnute".


Seedlings:1/16th-1/8th Tsp per gal.If feeding directly to medium start out with a pinch to your PH water.
Seedlings are very delicate.Stick to the Rule of thumb "Less is more,for seedlings,and clones",and you should be fine.Keep medium moist not saturated.

Vegetative:1/4-1/2 Tsp per gal.Depending on strain,or light intensity this can be bumped up to 3/4-1 Tsp or do a 50/50 mix with the Maxigrow if wanted.

Flower:3/4-1 Tsp per gal to feed the stretch.If using a 50/50 with the Maxigrow,discontinue Maxigrow when stretch starts winding down.Dark green leaves=N toxicity

Mid Flower:I suggest a gradual reduction going to harvest date.Find a balance unique to your setup/strain that feeds bud development,yet does not overfert.

I have done a few Hempy buckets.. they are easy, probably the easiest I have grown. Size and yield was NOT as close as my DWC buckets, better then soil yes but for me DWC was found to be superior in growth, size and buds. I grew in straight perlite for the hempy also and it was never an issue.

Good morning big budda, so you do lose a little with the hempies, but easy huh, I got ya. Wondering if I can pick your budda brain for a minute. Read a ton of your posts out there. Ha ha. It seems to me that you and a few others know your stuff. Here's the question: in a 12gal AN bloom solution + calimagic + aquashield+ using recommend amounts, drinking at least 1gal per day, but not totally dialed in yet. How much calmag should be used in the add backs. do you use a rule of thumb for calmag add backs. Where is that damn calmag meter!!! Also ph 5.5 to 6.4 adjust down 2x daily, temps 77 to 81 on off, 40 to 45 humidity, lots of air movin. Damn I'm a slow typer. Container says add 1teaspoon per gal for mix, but using 10extra gal water between changes. What's the plan man. Thanks.

I use 1ml per gallon of CalMag per RO water on my add backs.

I really enjoy dwc it's very fun and easy. I got a small grow 400w 4 plants 5 gal buckets and I use the botanicare line so far I have been averaging 3-4 oz dried of each plant.

No problem.. I used to not add calmag to my add back water... but the plants seem to develop a deficiency when the add back water reached a certain volume in the res. It doesn't happen with the calmag added now, so I continue to use it.
