I just read this thread and I have to say my heart has melted.

I could give you a very big hug for what you have done for that precious animal.

The world needs more people like you.

Gotta say. I'm a cruel bastard and would have drove away with a smile on my at the poor lonely deer, but I do enjoy reading about people like 420God. =)

Lol, I'm not all that nice. I just came in from my chicken coop where I had to take care of a skunk that got in it last night.

I fucking stink right now.

I'd let you know if I knew where she was. I haven't seen her since Monday night and honestly I fear the worst.

She seemed like she was getting a little sick on Sunday and she wasn't running around like she normally does Monday.

We have had a doe and fawn run through every morning around the area she's been laying so I'm really hoping she ran off with them.

This is the longest it's been that I haven't seen her so it kinda sucks and I doubt she's coming back.
In my mind I'm thinking she's just fine. Frolicking along in the big open fields and retreating into the safety of the forest. When she gets hungry she'll come visit her knight in shining armor again!! Wish you both the best.

Well we all knew this day would come but really didn't want it too. 420God bless you for the work you did with Baby. And I hope your rewards will be great. Let us know if you see her again I'm sure she still knows you. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

i hope she comes back to visit soon. I think she's ok. i would be scared for her too if i raised her like you did but she's a creature of nature, I am sure she's off doing what she's supposed to do with other deer. try to think positive. :)

Very true, and like I said, she lost all of her spots and was getting pretty big. There's miles of forest around me so there's lots of area for her to play.

So I've got a couple more babies this year I'd like to share. Both are orphans from different mothers, same stories as my last deer though.

I have a little buck I named Spike and another smaller one I named Baby in memory of my last deer.

Here's a few pics, hope you enjoy.
