Garbage Can setup

A while ago I found an article about a grow setup involving garbage cans .

The setup involved putting a light on the lid and had a small fan inside and also had a few holes to keep air circulating.
I also would like to hear about some air purifiers and soil types as well as handy chemicals to keep around the op.


If you guys have any better suggestions on a setup, please, let me know. I'm all ears!

they work great with a low heat bulb, a compact hortilux would do great or a 150w(a dimmable ballast would help, no need to have all 150w's going while shes still small) and a few computer fans would help. ive heard of spraying pine oil on around the grow to eliminate smell, though i would grow some marigolds around to deter any mites from making a home near your box, companion growing with them helps too. and make sure your box is light tight, black plastic and styrofoam would help to insulate.

Garbage cans can be very handy. It would be perfect for a DIY LED or fluoros. Rough up the inside and paint it flat white. Buy loose coconut carbon on eBay and make your own filter with a $13 bathroom fan from LOWES (it is a bit loud).

I'm guessing the white pain is to reflect the light.

Also, could you go into how I would jerry rig the bathroom fan with the carbon filter?

lol just put the garbage can over your head, don't wear a mask, and spray paint. i bet you won't finish lol

wow talk about a small grow room urban grower on youtube use's trash cans as soil containers for one plant!! it can be done though but you don't have a closet or basement if you smoke weed every day like me that harvest would'nt last me a week plus you'll smoke more if your not paying for it you want too grow atleast what you can smoke every 3+ months depending on strain a veg room and mother room would be great so you can harvest every two months its not really worth the investmint to grow in a trash can unless you smoke about one joint a week

are you sure it wasn't on the trailer park boys lmao its a canadian tv show its not bad they have them on youtube but there garbage can grow didn't go so well maybe you should watch that episode its not going to be very stealthy for sure
