i use sunbeam home heat mats, have for years for peppers and tomatoes and zinnias and more..... you need the one with 3 heat settings, set to low if your room is warmish and med if it's chilly. cheap and they work fine. place some flyers or other paper 6-8 sheets under the pad to protect your surface and one between your heat mat and tray. i water my media, place the seed and moisten with a mister again, then cover with barely moist media. into a dome and bam very quickly. also, if you can find coconut coir pots they're the shit. peat pots can grow mold on em and the peat pot can hold too much moisture or wick moisture out of the soil, and roots go through coir much easier. in a pinch unwaxed paper dixie cups poked full or holes up the sides and on the bottom work too.
