.....snip..........but it still don't change the fact that its not GOOD for you........snip.......
I was a dedicated vegetarian for 2 decades. When I became allergic to insulin I had no choice but to put down my vegetarian diet. I eat all meat. If I eat carbs I get sick. 'Good for you' is a relative term. We can describe good for a population but the suggestions become binary for the specific organism.

Oops-- I meant the growth hormones and chemicals for preserving they put into the meat being bad for you, not the actual meat lol.

You wouldn't make it very long in my neck of the woods.
If you live somewhere where meat is your only option, then it's survival of the fittest. If you live in a place where you can go grow a variety of fruits and veggies, or have access to a grocery store, eating meat isn't the smartest choice (health wise, at least).

Actually that's exactly what we are.
What he means is that cattle can eat and digest fields of grass because they are equipped to do that. Humans cannot break down cellulose, and thus cannot simply eat grass.

You seem to have the idea that you are either herbivore or carnivore, and there is no variation in between. Sure humans have a lot of characteristics suggesting we are far more like traditional herbivores rather than carnivores, but our digestive tracks are still vastly different from other herbivores. Cattle and humans are not the same and cannot have the same diet.

Jprin thinks animals and humans are equals, must be all the technological, medicinal, and artistic advancements that came from animal minds made him feel that way. Oh whats that? Humans made possible your communications, housing, clothing, transportation.

Comparing humans to nature bodes very poorly for your argument. Put it this way... those animals eat plant-based foods, without those plants, animals wouldn't exist... sorry no bacon or hamburgers. Humans are also the only species that PAY to live on the planet. Plants made it possible for you to eat meat.

And sunlight made it possible for plants to live, so why don't you just eat sunlight directly? I don't think your argument is a very good one.

That doesn't even make sense. Why spend a bunch of time, energy, and money feeding animals plant-based foods so you can have 'healthy' meat... when you could plant a lot less of it and eat them directly? How is decaying, dead animal flesh a good thing to put in your body?

Because that wasn't what your argument was. Your argument was

"those animals eat plant-based foods, without those plants, animals wouldn't exist....Plants made it possible for you to eat meat."

You didn't really provide any justification that eating plants is better (in that specific post), only that it is one link lower on the food chain. I made the next obvious step.

You keep using subjective terminology too. Why don't you refer to plant material as dead and decaying?

I used that as an example of how we're all reliant on each other (nature) to make the point that human life isn't more valuable than animal life.

How does that make the point that human life isn't more valuable than an animal life? It seems totally unrelated.

We need vegans in this world..... we need them for jokes! :)

They're all afraid of dying and whatnot... or afraid of hurting the animals feelings... LOL

I definitely don't buy the bs meat at walmart etc... I'd rather go out and kill my own.... without all those chemicals that will make me retarded.

This tennis match is a good thing, IMO anyways, even though the debate on whether which can be a better product for human consumption and therefor evolution, is still unclear.
History has shown evidence for both and yet our collective idea of what is morally right seems to be the forerunner of most arguments, not so much the flora and fauna but how we "feel" about said species.

A little self righteous but understandable none the less.

let me know the next time a cow performs surgery on a baby and saves it's life.
A human doctor saved my fathers life, not an orangatang dressed in a white lab coat.

are there any vegan professional athletes? i competitively race mx and go to the gym every day.. i feel like i would constantly need to be eating plants in order to maintain the right amount of protein for my life style/ body. The vegans i see preach about how much weight they loose which scares me away from it.. i need to gain muscle weight if anything. How can i pack on pounds eating plants. i look to nature at all the predators of the food chain, all fast and ripped and meat eating machines. then i look at the other half of the coin, like cows and deer and such, yeah they still can fuck up a human but i would think.. hey i have a chance here.. with a lion or bear not so much.
